So - my son had a 18 Si Coupe so I have a little expirence there as well. Personally - If it was me I'd go with the FoST. More power in stock form (if thats a concern) and is a reliable car as well (at least mine was). Are you activly shopping or really just wonderoing?
Wondering, because i know we're gonna have more 10th si's/ focus st's since used market and all that. Especially since there will be a debate about the whole diff thing. I did get some insight from someone who rn has an si who has owned both a focus st and a fiesta st.

I'd keep to Honda honestly, not a Ford fan, even though I've only test drove a Focus ST once in 2017. I didn't like it, felt cheaper and a lot noisier than the Civic. The diff didn't make a difference to me as I have a hatch but comparatively speaking the Civic is huge inside and feels more open than the Focus. Clearly new cars are much more expensive now, got my hatch for 32k CAD in 19, it is now almost 45k for the same version.....

Ford has a reputation for making cheap cars, some parts are good and reliable though and that 2L seems like it compared to some other ecoboost engines. I wouldn't call the shifter any good though, my old Toyota Tercel felt about as good... A CTR shifter with some acuity mods make the Civic one of the best shifter feel I've tried.

Also, for the same price as an SI, are you getting the same model year or the ST is much older? Makes a difference to me. My Civic is at 147k km and I have yet to change the drive belt. All my previous vehicles had to have been replaced by 100k. I've had very little issues with the rest of the car too other than AC problems, which have been good for the past 2 years. Stock suspension, even on the hatch is amazing and not harsh at all compared to other cars in its category and does well around auto cross courses.

I've never been partial to Hondas before this car, mostly a Toyota fan or old Chevys but Honda did a damn good job with the 10th gen if you like the styling and the 11th gen seems better outside of styling and size increase.

In the end, try it and if you like the FoST, get it, everyone else's opinion is theirs alone. Make up your mind about it.

The main reason I asked was mainly someone questioning why people get 10th and 11th si's when the focus st exists. Other than the whole focus st open diff thing but that's a whole other debate I don't want to get into.
The ST was on the my list, but shot it down before I test drove one because I wanted to buy new at the time and Ford had already discontinued them a couple years prior.

We test drove a Focus ST when we were shopping before buying our Civic Hatchback Sport and found it cramped, noisy (especially road noise), harsh, uncomfortable, and had a really rough ride.
Sounds a lot like my si....

I would take a Focus ST over my car if it was optioned right, But I would rather have an RS Focus. I bought my car for cheap insurance, fuel mileage, and its Lime GREEN! I have no special love for Hondas. My other 4 vehicles are Classic Ford products. But this little cheapo go-cart is fun.

I’ve been interested in comparing the Civic Si and Focus ST, as both cars have their unique advantages. On one hand, the Civic is known for its reliability, smooth ride, and spacious interior, which makes it ideal for daily use. On the other hand, the Focus ST offers more power in its standard configuration and provides, in my opinion, a true sporty driving experience. I think the choice largely depends on whether you plan to use the car for daily commutes or spirited weekend drives.

If it helps, I had some late night freeway fun with another guy in a Focus ST last night. Not sure what mods he had, but my FBO stock turbo Si pulled way harder. We did numerous rolling starts and he just didn't have the juice to keep up. He at minimum had an aftermarket exhaust, not sure what else. Lowered and rims too.
