Better option compared to what? Also what attributes are we FOCUSing on?

We test drove a Focus ST when we were shopping before buying our Civic Hatchback Sport and found it cramped, noisy (especially road noise), harsh, uncomfortable, and had a really rough ride. We also though the shiftier felt like something out of an old Pinto.

It handled well enough, and was pretty peppy (the engine kind a sounded like it was going fly into 1000 pieces at high revs though), however in our option the car had little else going for it. YMMV.

gonna get a lot of hate from saying this...Focus ST is an excellent vehicle. My friend has had two of them and absolutely beat on them at high milage 80k and above while FBO + running E85. Never blew a head gasket or anything so you have to at least give it that. I would honestly put both the Si and ST on the same playing field. Go with whatever feel more comfortable to drive tbh and has what your looking for. Drivetrain reliability and power same exact level.

Id do it again for sure great cars! Lots of aftermarket support. Mine was a 16 ST3. Bought new and modded the snot ouf it .

The main reason I asked was mainly someone questioning why people get 10th and 11th si's when the focus st exists. Other than the whole focus st open diff thing but that's a whole other debate I don't want to get into.

Yah quaife is your answer there if the open diff (ESD) is a deal breaker. The fact they stopped bringing them in the country in 18 sucks as well . The 2.0 Ecoboost is pretty available from a motor/parts perspective as well since they used it in several makes/models (fusion/escape etc..) None the less Im still a fan for sure.
For a daily a Focus ST for a weekend toy Fiesta ST (with a big turbo). My garage just isnt big enough though lol #firstworldproblems

As a former Fiesta ST owner, I am for purchasing a FoST, assuming that it wasn't beaten by its previous owner. OEM parts aren't expensive, but... they're not expensive so the weirdest stuff breaks; i.e. I've never had to replace a HVAC blend door actuator in any other car ownership, but somehow had to replace one for a new FiST within 3 years.

As for your question regarding why people pick a Si over a FoST: The Honda, besides the usual reliability win, is surprisingly more roomy by comparison, both for life and cargo. Even ever so marginal, it makes a difference sometimes.

FWIW I would get another Fiesta had Ford USA continued to bring them over.

Though mainly the main question is FoSt or Si because used price wise they are actually near each other.

I have never owned my own personal focus st but my two closest friends have them, one tuned by freaktuned and the other by jst both fbo on 93, those cars are very damn torque heavy compared to the si, si feels more balanced pulling to redline I feel as if the focus st falls harder on its face which i didn’t think was possible(stock turbo) I was able to go door to door with both of them on the pherable 1.5r tune and they supposedly made 100wtq 20whp more then the si, I will say the st’s turbo flutter with a bov is hilarious I personally love how they sound much more then the 1.5t’s
