With V3.3.4 we have added Flex Fuel support to the FK8. This uses a ethanol content analyzer connected to the ECT2 input to modify fuel, ignition & boost to run at any level of fuel ethanol content without reflashing.

This is a big deal for the FK8 because this single modification (Flex Fuel support) running 40% ethanol will add more power than an intake, downpipe, exhaust and intercooler combined. Before you ask... if you run Flex Fuel and then an intake, downpipe, exhaust and intercooler you only get marginal gains (~10hp) over just Flex Fuel. Diminishing marginal utility of modifications.

Since the FK8 fuel pump flows so little what we have done is add a air charge by ethanol table which limits air charge so that the fuel pump will be within its limits no matter what ethanol content you run. 0 to 85% works. Peak power is right at 40% ethanol.

Make sure you have our Traction Control enabled.

Where do i get an Ethanol Content analyzer?

Ethanol Content analyzers are available:
http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/ECA/ECA.shtml
https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/MTXD.php#3904

But it might be easier to get a pre-made kit for the Civic as it will have the fuel line fittings etc already. The 1.5 Civic kit will not work, as the fuel line is a different diameter. As far as I know there are FK8 kits in the works and they should be available now or soon.

Edit: ProCivic has one out now for the FK8.

Made my own kit using left over PTFE steel braided line and Fragola PTFE fittings and Russel EFI -6an to the 5/16” hard pipe fitting adapter together with the Innovate ECF1 3903 kit. It does Ethanol content percentage, wide band, fuel pressure and fuel temp all in one gauge.

Can someone post a pic of the ECT2 post radiator coolant temp sensor location? I know it’s under the air box location. It has to be unplugged and the wire connected to the signal wire of the Ethanol content analyzer.

 Fantastic! Was wondering how long before there’s an ethanol tune for the CTR. Now we just need a plug & play FFK from our vendors.

The only downside is range will likely drop below 200 miles on a full tank of E40 mixture, if driven semi-aggressively (how can you not with 380 hps?). :headbang:

I suppose if you run closer to 85% then you just have diminished performance? Man we need fuel!

after studying the e30 tune with no sensor and the new e40 tune the gains are huge through out the power band avg 20hp -25 hp avg and 25-35 tq avg

does hondata work best with sirimoto? What do you guys recommend?

why would it not matter? The calibration doesn't use a 30-40 blend as a starting point and adjust it from there...

without a flex fuel sensor, you'd be running a calibration with the ecu thinking you have 0% ethanol when your really running at 30-40%.
