Hi all!

We figured that it was time that the FK8 CTR platform deserved an aggressive wheel/tire fitment thread! Would love to see the limits of stock body fitment on this chassis, and what many of you are doing to make it work! Who doesn't love a little bit of aggressive fitment? This thread can also be used to serve as a reference for those who would like to achieve the same look!

Please list the following with your post:
Wheel size (Diameter/Width/Offset)
Tire Size
Suspension mods (if applicable)
Fender Mods (if applicable)

To start off, one of the first setups we have run our demo CTR is Advan GT, 18x10.5 +35 Front, 18x9.5 +35 Rear.

Wheel Specs:
F: 18x10.5 +32 effective (3mm spacer)
R: 18x9.5 +35
F: 265/35/18 Falken RT615k Front
R: 245/40/18 Falken RT615K Rear
Suspension: Fortune Auto FA500 Coilovers
Fender Mods: No Fender Roll, Rear Fender Cut

Reason for reverse-stagger: Planning to run a 275 or 285 up front eventually, and sizing up to a 265 in the rear. We started out with 265/245 stagger to see how it would fit first. Came out perfect! No rubbing. Probably could have gotten away without cutting the rears if we kept the car lowered at 1". Pictured is the car lowered roughly 1.6" from OEM.

Wheel Specs:
TE37 Saga 18x9.5 +33 5x120

F: 18x9.5 +30 effective (3mm spacer) w/ 265/35/18 Potenza S007A
R: 18x9.5 +33 5x120 w/ 265/35/18 Potenza S007A
Height: Lowered 1.6"
Suspension: Fortune Auto FA500 Coilovers
Fender Mods: No Fender Roll

Next is our square setup, 18x9.5 to achieve Face-4 concavity on the Rays Volk TE37 Saga (unprecedented in FK8 CTR fitment, all previous TE37 Saga came as Face-2 or Face-3 concave only for the CTR platform).

Many of our customers run this size and have gotten away with no fender work required to make it work (both on springs / OEM height).

Wheel Specs:
Rays Volk ZE40 RW Limited 18x10 +36 Dash White/Red

F: 18x10 +33 effective (3mm spacer) w/ 265/35/18 Potenza S007A
R: 18x10 +36 w/ 265/35/18 Potenza S007A
Height: Lowered about 1.6" all around
Suspension: Fortune Auto FA500 Coilovers
Fender Mods: No Fender Roll

This is another square setup we have offered for the FK8 CTR community, 18x10 for those who wish to fit a 275. At 265 or 255, no fender roll/fender cut is necessary. We have helped procure this size to achieve Face-3 concavity for the ZE40 RW Limited (conventional sizing is 18x9.5 +46, which is flat-face).

We also have customers running our regular Volk ZE40 in 18x10 +37 (1mm more sunk than this) with a 265/35/18 with no fender roll/cut. No issues so far. (Works on both Springs + OEM height).

Correct! Swift offers the lowest drop springs on the market right now, at 1". We have customers running very close sizing to this 18x10 +36 with a 265/35/18 tire, with no issues reported so far. Again, this will really depend on the tire choice you go with, as not all tires are created equal. We have found that tires such as AD08R tend to run a little bit wider and taller than most tires. Falken FK510's seem to have no issues at this size. Same with Toyo Proxes 4. Alot of 200 Treadwear tires and below tend to be stickier compound, and will run a little wider/taller than usual.

Learning daily with ‘19 Type R so keep the flamethrowers handy since nothing installed yet.
One source said up to 265/35-R19 can be installed on all stock no rub/interference. I hear others need slight rear fender trims so I went down one width to 255, looks like 33 more poke, 7mm higher in wells, about 1/2 higher ride height that seems to be a reasonable tuck stance, thoughts?

Main purpose of posting is to see if anyone has any feedback on these new Gy Exhil tires yet? Look fairly close Perf wise as A/S to Mich 3+, with multiple rebates ($150 w/new card, $25 install) tires and wheels total were under $1,300 including red Monster lugs and locks. 3+ was more than that just tires (just $391 four new wheels). Add $100-125/wheel if I powder coat instead of overlaying shiny alum (how tbd) w/red or complimentary black, prolly won’t last vs PC but can always do that later. STOCK shots:

In our honest opinion, those wheels would be better suited with a 255/35/19 tire. At stock height, there should be no issue/no cut necessary based on our research/customer experience. We have no feedback regarding those Gy Exhil tires.

Very aggressive fitment for the street. Test-fit purposes only. Did not drive long term on this setup

Thanks for your response.

I may have messed up mentioning 265 width as I’ll be mounting exactly what you suggested as in my post header, 255/35-19s square.

‘preciate!

What type of fender mods are you guys doing to be this low with a lower offset. I see some stuff where people are either rolling fenders, or cutting the rear inner fender. or is camber just enough?

For the fronts, there are two things you can do if you need extra clearance:
1) Bend the fender liner tab up at the front of the fender/wheel well
2) Roll the fender

For the rears, there are two things you can do if you need extra clearance:
1) Trim the plastic fender
2) Trim the metal flare under the plastic fender for additional clearance

What do you have done to achieve the height you're at and fitment?
