I just wanna say.. I hit the 600 mile mark as per the manual says to last night. HOLY MOLY THIS CAR IS AMAZING!! I actually lifted in 3rd gear o_O

The only car to ever make me lift was a 2017 Camaro SS. 455HP/455TQ

I love my Type R. As you all were :drive:

Until the minder comes on I'll change it .

Factory oil is not something you can buy . Use it up .

Didn't care about break in . Redling it all the way to DMV for verification the day I got the car .

No engine light or gear grind like lots of other CTRs out there.

Why did you change it at 1,900
Cus i wanted too, its my car. Everyone will have a different approach. You do what you feel it correct.

The cars just have oil in them. ( no break in oil or anything like that). So changing the oil isnt gonna hurt it, only help it.

Thats my take, you can do what you want.

i changed my oil at 1900 for my 1st oil change. I have a little over 5100 now, and i am about to change it again.

Nice, from my findings on my factory fill UOA, that’s the perfect time to change. Fuel dilution WAS starting to creep in; coming in at 2.1%

Anything over 3% is nothing I want to be a part of.

Agreed. Coming from other DIT platforms fuel dilution is a problem. 4K is the most I'll take it depending on length of time. I'll be using Motul as well. Amsoil, Redline, and Motul are all very close to 30 weight oils in cst. Motul being the most cost effective.

When is everyone performing their first oil change? Currently at 5k miles but maintence minder is only showing 50%? Wondering if I should change oil now, I am too use to changing my previous car every 5k.

Soooo..

Ive read that guys are changing oil at 600 miles at the break in point.

Then ive read that guys are changing the oil at 1500 miles..

Then ive read, some guys arent doing until their normal minder comes on.

I was thinking of doing the 1500 mile oild change, hmm.
