Hey All!
There are a lot of great answers on this forum and I've read a lot of great DIY articles here (thanks so much to all you contributors!) however there are some minor questions that I can't find solid answers to. Below is my build and a few questions I am hoping to find answers to, and I appreciate anyone's feedback with experience in these types of build. Thank you very much in advance!
My build (so far):
Focal PS 165 FE - 6.5" Woofers + Tweeters (70w rms/140w Max @ 4 ohms) - https://www.focal.com/en/car-audio/...performance/flax-evo/component-kits/ps-165-fe
Focal P 20 FSE - 8" Sub (200w rms/400w Max @ 4 ohms) - https://www.focal.com/en/car-audio/.../flax-evo/subwoofers-bass-enclosures/p-20-fse
Rockford Fosgate T600-4 (2ch x 100w rms @ 4ohm, 2ch bridged 300w rms @ 4ohm) - https://rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/t600-4/
JL Audio FiX 82 (DSP) - https://www.jlaudio.com/products/fix-82-car-audio-oem-integration-98100
+ Dynamat
+ 6.5" Baffles
A few questions:
> The JL DSP says that some vehicles mute output if load isn't detected. Can anyone confirm this is not an issue with the FK8?
> The JL DSP also comes with its own volume control. Since I will have 5 speakers hooked up to the stock system I will have to control both with the HU which may introduce distortion. Any way to work around this?
> According to my research only the left front speakers need to be run to the amp for input. Can anyone confirm that? Are there disadvantages to only having the left channel?
> I'm planning to run 4ga power for the amp and 14ga power for the speakers. Can anyone confirm that size will fit under the trim? Any problems with crosstalk?
> I am worried about available amperage so I deliberately went for lower powered components with optimistic power for spikes. My 08 si suffered from multiple battery issues with only a 500w system, so I am hoping to avoid power related issues.
Any feedback is great, thank you for reading!
