3. Once the whitelist is edited, it's time to push it back using the following command: "adb push /your/location/whitelist-1.0.xml /data/local/tmp/whitelist-1.0.xml"

4. Now just replace the old whitelist with the updated one.
Start up shell in root again using run-as and use the following command: "cp /data/local/tmp/whitelist.xml /data/data/"

5. Now just exit back out of shell by typing exit twice and use "adb restart".

For #4 shouldn't the command be "cp /data/local/tmp/whitelist-1.0.xml /data/data/"

For #5 I cant get "adb restart" to work. I think it tells me there is no such command please help.

My bad! I'll edit it, and put it in the main post as well later today.

Ever time I start up my car, my head unit tries to start every app installed. Does yours do that?
Mine I think do the same but not all, waze only I think.... But if you choose source fm radio before turn off they will not start next time

so apparently the 2017 civics have Turn by Turn on the cluster even if you dont have NAV. wonder if we can find a way to transfer that to the 2016 civics

This is what I did. I installed using platform tools and ubuntu. Execute root.sh to upload the files into the headunit. If adb still doesn't work then install android studio.

Run terminal from platform tool folder.

Skip these steps if you have your whitelist.
"adb shell"
"/system/bin/run-as"
"cp /data/data/whitelist-1.0.xml /data/local/tmp"
"chown shell:shell /data/local/tmp/whitelist-1.0.xml"
"exit"
"exit"
"adb pull /data/local/tmp/whitelist-1.0.xml /your/directory/here"

"adb push /your/location/whitelist-1.0.xml /data/local/tmp/whitelist-1.0.xml"
"adb shell"
"/system/bin/run-as"
"cp /data/local/tmp/whitelist-1.0.xml /data/data/"
"exit"
"exit"
"adb reboot"

Note: If apk appears but install is faded then the edited whitelist wasn't pushed into the system.
If no apk then the whitelist wasn't edited well; you can check by opening whitelist in browser, if there's text then it should work, if not it should say it wasn't parse. Dragging the apk to the install.bat will spit out part of the whitelist but it's missing the top portion.
Another cause is the whitelistapservice.apk (if you install it) to enable video while driving. A easy solution is that doesn't require unistalling whitelistapservice.apk is by using adb install which bypass the installer.
"adb install location/name.apk"

I'm running the latest right now and it's working well. Haven't had any problem and I've been driving pretty almost all day.
Also here's my whitelist for waze, see if it works.

Code:
        <application>
            <property>
                <name>com.waze</name>
                <package>com.waze</package>

thank you.

I'm running 4.26.0.3 just fine for me. Here's my whitelist entry for it:

I'm noticing some differences w/ the previous whitelist code, probably related to audio. I don't use Waze for voice navigation.

also, sorry for such a noob question - still in the learning process, where and how do i get the keystore values?

also, if i decide to update the apk to the latest versions in future, do i need to make any changes to whitelist and keystore values or is it just one time thingie?
