Flew out to New Orleans yesterday afternoon to pick up my brand new '21 Type R only to turn around and drive it 500 miles back home early this morning. Taped up the front end with 2" wide 3M painters tape and it worked perfect to protect the paint from bugs and grime. Will post more pics after I do a proper detail.

(salesman parked it in the handicap spot, not me!)

Yea, around here it adds about 40 degrees to the interior temperatures when you come out of work after parking it in the sun all afternoon! :)
Same here.

1k mile update -

This car has been nothing short of fantastic. I haven’t driven my Z since I brought the R home. It is truly an amazing machine. More than enough power for daily driving but with enough creature comforts to keep me feeling good on my way to/from work. I’m really happy with the R. Highly recommend one to anyone who may be looking at them. Don’t miss out on one of these ‘21’s!

Lovely car! I like black cars as a rule, but living on a dirt road for the past 20+ years, I learned the hard way that I can't keep one clean. Plus the winters, when nothing looks quite as terrible as a black car covered in gray salt dust.

Thank you! Oddly enough, after owning various cars for the past 20+ years, this is my first one in black. And yep, I've learned very quick that it is definitely a chore to keep clean. It lives in the garage though which helps. If it had to stay outside, I'd probably lose mind knowing it wouldn't stay clean for more than a few minutes.

And in Texas, at least, you don't have to worry much about winter. I spend half the year, literally, on snow tires.

Looks great.

PPF on black keeps the paint from showing normal wear. I covered about 65% of my last black car and wish I had done the whole car.

Have fun!

That is true with exception to this year. We went thru snowmageddon just a couple months ago. I didn’t get to drive my cars for at least a week. It sucked.
