Final type r production numbers

I read somewhere long time ago that, roughly 30-35% of R's are shipped to the US. If we assume a final production of 50,000, then roughly 15,000 would be sold in the US. I think this may be our closest bet. Cheers,

They're rare around me (New England).

Other than my own and my son's, I've seen exactly two in the wild.

Also in Northern New England and I have seen a total of five since 2017 excluding mine and cars on dealer's lots. 2 CW, 2 AB, and 1 CBP. I watch the roads like a hawk and only saw one in CW (plate "PRELUDE") for the first few years with the others popping up in the last year.

Even the genX Si is relatively uncommon up here compared to the frequent 8th and 9th gen Si. My best guess is that the performance crowd prefers the AWD WRX/STi up here due to the winter weather as I can't go far without spotting one of those.

When the 2020’s came out Honda said they had sold around 15K in the US since the release of the 2017. Figure another 3-4k at most since then. They must largely be on the west coast because they are rarer than hen’s teeth here. I only know of 2 others in my metro area of ~400000.

Interesting, I bought my ‘21 SGP type R # 40130 from the dealer in Nashville. Love this car!

Wow! When I got mine in Newton, MA they had 3 new and 1 used one. This was November 2019.

I’m #30816 so when someone said about 10,000/ year that sounds about right. But I wonder if COVID effected the production numbers? Or any semiconductor shortage?

Bought my 21 SGP in Nov 2020. It is no. 40130.
