I recently purchased a Civic Sedan FC1 with 35,000Km (about 22,000miles) on ODO. Checked the insurance and maintenance history - both seemed to be fine. During the first regular service at the authorised agent, I was informed of the rear shocks oil leak and advised to change asap. After running another 5,000kms I got under the hood to find the oil leak on both sides.

I'm totally new to owning HONDAs. I haven't come across such cases in my previous vehicles. Anyone had a similar experience with your cars.

Is this a common issue in these cars?

thanks

Totally depends on the previous owner. Ive known people who slam their cars on lowering springs have no issues since 2018. Salt and moisture exposure as well as rapid temp change could all be factors.

Or the previous owner regularly railed potholes and speedbumps without a care
