The CCV does catch a little. Just enough to wet the bottom of the catch can dipstick.

Our usage sounds very similar. PCV is highly recommended. CCV an added luxury, but not needed as much as the PCV.

Still not seeing much accumulation in the CCV can? Think I only really need the PCV can. 2 track days a year (not at 10/10ths) and some autocross. 99% daily driving miles with some fun on-ramps and such.

Use a ratchet, short extension and 14mm socket to remove the bolts that secures the bracket. Notice the hand mirror is kept in place with loops of zip ties that run through the handle and attached to
You’re a LIAR Fatherpain! That is a 12mm bolt there. I just checked on that last night. But seriously thank you for the write up. It did help me a few times during the process of getting my fuel line out. I tried getting it without removing the manifold but no luck.
For anyone interested I did compared some WOT 3rd gear logs and the 5/64” drilled line reduced my fuel pump duty by an average of 3.5% between 3500-5500 rpm, 5.2% between 5500-6500 rpm and by 6.7% from 6500-7000rpm.

Thank you for catching that. Made the correction to the original post, as XDI said they will direct FK8 XDI HPFP customers here to help clarify the install process, if have questions.

Removal of the intake manifold is the smartest route to go to access the fuel line. And it also will make reinstalling safer. Definitely don't want the fuel line to cross thread or not be tightened down enough resulting in a dangerous fuel leak. ;)

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 95D1E739-91BD-4702-84B5-D7378E9A5A73
Pardon the dirty car... Really need to take some time to vacuum, heh. Have been meaning to relocate the Bracketeer fire extinguisher mount to the front rail of the passenger seat. Having it at the rear limits how far back the seat can move. Really lame for persons taller than me... Which is just about everyone out there. 😂

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 987FDAA0-472D-40F0-BEE8-CF97EBBFA3FD

When I originally installed the Bracketeer, I didn't think there was enough room to locate it to the front seat rail, but someone mentioned they did it, so wanted to revisit. After accessing what was needed, extended the holding bracket to its furthest position.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 2BC962A2-C99E-4052-BA49-50F325243E6F

Did a trial fit to find it close, but not an exact fit. The metal seat rail lever was hitting the bracket, so swapped both outer rails on the Bracketeer to the top side and reversed the (4) silver bolts so they installed from underneath. The goal was to make the fire extinguisher sit lower and not contact the seat rail lever.

Doing so, however caused the bottom of the bracketeer to contact the floor and not sit right. Corrected this by bending both arms slightly.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 79E39899-D83E-4F94-8316-CB9255461B3F

With the Bracketeer properly adjusted, slid it onto both seat rails and tightened down the holding screw using an Allen head. Used a small wrench to grab and turn the Allen. Surprisingly was a little bit of a pain, but doable.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R AF1A4060-EBCE-4E7C-8495-0F0157A5F56E
Voila, Bracketeer installed to the front of the passenger seat, with the seat pushed all the way to back to it's furthest position. Much better

The ones I've done I haven't had to remove the manifold luckily. That sucks 😳

You put a fire extinguisher under passenger seat? You should make them aware of it while they buckle up. I can only imagine the oh shit faces.

PS you need to vacuum. Take a 7 min breather from installing parts and swap it for some vacuuming time. Go scary movie 1 style and don't disturb me while I'm vacuuming. Wait that's probably too far.

I believe that’s the most common and ideal location to mount one.

Originally intended for the extinguisher to go there when first picked up the Bracketeer… but thought it didn’t fit.

Recall someone mention they were able to do it, so finally made time to revisit and was able to get it with some finangling.

Mounting the fire extinguisher under the front passenger seat has these advantages:
  • Front passengers aren’t constrained by the seat being pushed forward. It was abit cramped for anyone over 5’6, with it mounted on the rear seat rail.
  • While it may look kinda sketchy, the front passenger’s legs pass right over and will not snag it.
  • Within easier reach of the driver
  • Rear passengers won’t kick or step on it.
Haha you’re absolutely right. I’m OCD for certain things and vacuuming sadly isn’t one of them. Truth be told, haven’t spent much time with the car this year, due to a variety of reasons…

That said, am prepping the car to hit the track tomorrow, so putting this on my list of things to do: 😂

Yea that's why I like my weathertech mat set. Usually just have to dump them out and barely vacuum underneath. I then spray them with armorall which is a no no because makes them slippery as heck the first few days but then goes away. I just can't help myself from doing it.

I would find an alternative for the armorall stuff. Unless theyve changed their formula, back in the day they were known for drying out plastics.

Ive been very happy with this from CG

https://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guy...&sprefix=chemical+guys+interio,aps,119&sr=8-9

I havent had any issues thus far.

But if the Armor All stuff is working for ya without any problems then more power to ya!

Yea I've used Mcguires before but sometimes buy armorall. Never had too many issues with plastic before on old Civic that wasnt garage kept till end. Si has been garage kept. I'll switch back to Mcguires probably.

I like Stoner Glass cleaner a lot. I think it's one of the best glass cleaner that you can get at most stores.

Edit- I might try out that chemical guy spray. I mean they apparently know their chemicals.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 48CF6263-184B-42CE-9FC8-E3DB8F567F45

Hitting the track, so added some Sliplo to protect the J’s Racing carbon fiber front lip.

Meant to do this earlier to improve streetability, but haven’t really driven the car much since the lip went on.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 842B1D41-9E71-41F5-9F5F-AC11C1BC3C22

Have only driven 1k miles or so... Basically to and from work every few weeks + one trip to Vegas and back.

Even so, it was still enough to scrape the lip at stock height.

Exiting gas stations has been painful despite creeping slowly and at an angle,

Was appalled to find, in addition to scratches, the lip already has some hairline cracks.

Ah well. It’s a lip after all.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R B6F626DA-4ADE-4D81-80A6-EDD7184F11C5

Briefly considered performing the Sliplo install upside down with the bumper in place, but figured it’d be easier to remove the bumper and bring it inside. Instructions said to first wipe down the contact area with rubbing alcohol.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 9B24DE2C-467E-411D-A8E5-C9322B566F95

Each Sliplo kit comes with (2) 3M adhesive promoters to apply to the surface. It’s a wet chemical sponge, so advise wearing latex gloves.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R D52F8CCC-CF97-4225-B40D-EDABBCBA2520

Wiped just the area where the Sliplo will press onto. Then let it fully dry.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R D26DB557-E786-4665-9D64-17AC666F76A4

Each Sliplo piece has an adhesive backing to peel. There are (8) pieces per kit. I used (2) kits.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R D5BE0E9F-5590-4236-B7C6-3662B2034941

Applied the first piece to the center then worked my way outwards in both directions. The Sliplo pieces adhere instantly once it touches, so had to make sure it was properly lined up. Put it about 1/8” back from the leading edge to cover the scratched areas.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 14AD576C-AA3D-4E5E-84AF-1E08CFA5A9F5

The Sliplo pieces bend fairly easily, but it is recommended to make cuts where there are turns. Sharp scissors work pretty well for this.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 27F2169C-1E0C-45E6-B8B3-975CCF8EFEC4

Here’s a typical bend. Added a small piece, then continued adding longer pieces. Did some trimming to make the pieces butt against each other nicely.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 6B3CDACC-BEAC-442B-A75D-7B857CB7703C

Reached out to Sliplo technical support and they suggested spacing the 2nd kit 3-4 inches back from the first. Used the leftovers to add a small third row towards the rear.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R DCC97657-AE63-4556-9A35-AEC009EE0EA4

Sliplo installed and bumper back on. Hopefully the Sliplo will take the hit and protect the lip as advertised. :)

Ah now that's interesting with that Sliplo product. Hopefully helps protect. I wouldn't get lip even though I like the look on most because I like to pull into parking space all the way up and my front barely clears the concrete stoppers stock.

Hitting the track today with the Los Angeles Shelby Club for their annual Dralle day at Streets of Willow.

This will be my 2nd time attending their event, which is really chill and well run. The organizers are real good people.

Missed last years, but hitting 2 out of 3 isn’t bad.

Temps are forecast to hit 102F. I’m on worn tires, so hopefully they last to get an afternoon session in.

How did you do on track? Sounds hot as hell. Did all your cooling mods prevail? Sounds like you need to be looking for a deal on some tires in the future. That hood is insane.

Thank you for asking @SethNES. Had a fun, albeit abbreviated day. My wife and I had a birthday party to attend so had to skip the final session.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R E2142A03-F557-4884-A05E-FBE09D508CD7

Mid-morning sessions were shut down for cleanup due to this car blowing it’s drain plug and leaking oil over a good portion of the track. 😞

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R C33F3D05-FB4E-41DD-8C63-3B4C1B2A94F4

Still was able to get out there and have fun. There were less than (30) cars in attendance, so traffic was light in the intermediate (8) and advanced (4) groups.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 78778C9F-342F-4326-9A44-19C2EDF1A8B4

Temps didn’t get quite as high as forecast but was still a hot 96F. OEM temp gauge never budged off normal. Had the heater on high, but don’t think it was needed.

Was pretty stoked, as the cooling mods handled the extra heat load from the tune, no problem.

This was expected, but still nice to have confirmation.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 128F11CF-6C0C-4904-9CEE-2637C15701F3

Did a respectable 1:30.262 according to the Hotlap timer app.

Not too bad considering the elevated temps and worn tires.

Honda Civic 10th gen Fatherpain’s 2018 Type R 411D26BE-3A9F-45E9-86E7-AE664B96FB96

Still had a little tread left for the drive home, so that was a bonus ;)
