Hello folks,

I've been lucky enough to scoop a new CTR retrofit clutch kit and KZCMC from a fellow forum member and will be looking to install soon. Ordered the PRL SS clutch line also.

Wondering if anyone can give a ballpark figure on what to expect for labor costs? Trying not to get screwed, so I'm definitely not going to a dealer, but we do have some indy shops around here, including some transmission shops.

I know labor/hr charges will vary across the country, but total hours should be relatively uniform for the job. If anyone has feeback on what the typical quote is for total hours to get this clutch kit installed, please share!

Thanks!

My Honda dealer quoted $1000 cdn plus tax. But they have no experience doing a clutch swap on a tenth gen yet. I would anticipate a good local shop would be a bit less. I only have one local shop who’s done one CTR clutch swap, I’m gonna chat with them once my clutch comes in. I’ve seen $800 thrown around these forums in a few places.

Ya, I tend to stay away from dealerships for repair work outside of factory warranty. I was once quoted $2500 USD from an Acura dealer for work that an indy shop did for $500 LOL. Unfortunately, that indy shop owner is now retired and closed up shop.

I think I saw something like $850 USD on the forums once. I'll dig around a bit more and ask around at shops in the area.

I was quoted $800 CAD from a local independent 10th gen specialist for clutch/CMC/SS line + CDV delete.

I guess $800 USD is the common number here. Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to mention about the fluid.

Wow, that is a good deal. May have to drive up to Canada and go to this shop lol. I used to have a good Honda specialist indy shop when I lived in the Northeast US, but now I'm in the midwest where everyone has pickup trucks...

$1100CAD. Roughly 8hours of labor. All the Honda dealerships in Calgary haven't had that experience yet so if anyone in Calgary knows of a local shop lemme know!

700-1000 is reasonable depending on area. I paid $800, got around 6 quotes and that was the 2nd lowest, lowest was 700 from a shady shop

That's great for a shop that deals specifically (or has good knowledge of) 10th gen civics. I'd trust a specialty shop with some good knowledge over the over-priced dealership.
At least the specialty shop will treat your car with the respect you expect.

A very reputable shop just quoted me 935 today. So I’m not sure if I want to take it there since they have been around forever. Or the shop that quoted me 800 don’t know much about them but haven’t really heard anything negative.

After multiple quotes I ended up having the work done and after all said and done + alignment (I wont skip this considering the subframe is dropped) I ended up paying $1100

EDIT: Fun fact i had one shop quote me $1300 right at the start. I was a bit rude to them as I hung up.
