With addons is it not possible to flash it back to factory and work? Then refresh after inspection?

Flash back to factory and drive it for a few days before getting it re-inspected. Emissions readiness monitors need a complete drive cycle to become ready after flashing the ECU.

Unless they've changed something recently I had my 17 Sport Hatch inspected while tuned last year and passed with no problems. When I had my Si inspected earlier this year I didn't have a tune on it but I did have a catted downpipe and that passed as well. I dunno how you failed unless something has changed in what they check for

Hey guys I just got my car inspected today and live in Massachusetts. I failed emissions for reprogramming my ecu. I have prl intake prl intercooler and charge pipes, hks catback exhaust, and phearable stage 2 tune. Now I have to schedule an appt for a motorist assistance center to look at my car. Just a heads up for anyone living in Massachusetts and and want to tune your car youre going to go through some bs for inspection
Massachusetts - the new California?

Properly tuned you shouldn't have an issue getting inspected - it feels like others have said that your 02 sensor is either disabled or in a non ready state.

I have a friend I was talking to earlier with a 2010 evo and he’s tuned and same thing happened to him at inspection. He hasn’t brought his car to get retested since so he doesn’t know what was wrong either. Maybe it’s a new thing they’re doing. Either way I’ll find out soon

I want to assume the catalyst unsupported is causing the issue. Contact Phearble and ask if they know what’s going on, there normally is a setting to disable the secondary O2 sensor to disable a light, but there is a way to keep it ready as well (though you’ll throw a code if you have an aftermarket downpipe).

You technically don’t have any mods that would require a tune, so you can get away with taking off the tune, driving it for an hour, letting all the readiness lights go on and test again. After passing put the tune back on.

I did contact phearable haven’t heard back yet. I’m just confused because the inspector didn’t see anything wrong he said it should’ve passed

There is zero chance an OTS tune comes out of the box disabling that sensor. I've used two Phearable tunes and those are only enabled or disabled by the user

Didn’t pass the first time, my battery died and didn’t drive enough miles to ready, and also for yellow fog lights. Catalyst should be ready.

They just called and said I was flagged for emissions tampering. I have to flash back to stock tune and get retested

Forgot to mention, on TSP 1 tune, on map 1 when I had my car inspected.

This scares me, lol. I also have a Phearable tune and I all I did to my car was an intake. Got inspected before it.
