Just finished reading the thread on the 2017 CTR sound system. Thanks and lots of good information. UFO CTR thanks for sending me notes on your setup. For those that have replaced your stock sub, can you do me a favor and measure the depth on your stock sub. I like the rockford fosgate 8" and amp setup but looking to see if I can fit an 8" Alpine Type R sub in there instead. Need to do some research on how volume is actually in the stock box.

From their website, the mounting depth for the Alpine is: 4-1/2′′

Other comparable subs are the rockford fosgate P3SD4-8: 2.66"
JL Audio 8W1v3-4: 3.86 in

Thanks! Let the modding continue!

Don't think so. I only see the factory subwoofer listed under the Civic Touring models.

Why not just take yours out and measure it yourself? Is just a couple screws.

Don't really want to start taking stuff apart unless I'm ready to install stuff. I figured there are a few folks on the forum that have already done the swap and probably has their stock subwoofer laying around somewhere...

nope. unless you add some mounting rings to raise the sub up by .36 inches. But then it might push up against the sub cover.

I have two 1/2" spacers stacked together to mount an Alpine Type R sub to the stock box.
I did the same for my Alpine 8” Type R woofer. I use the Alpine cover and discarded the original sub cover.
