I want to upgrade my DP and FP with a combo from either PRL or 27WON. PRL's DP/FP combo is 3" throughout, while 27WON's DP starts at 3.125" then tapers to 2.5" and their FP is 2.5" throughout.

I'm currently running the Greddy 3" frontpipe-back exhaust with the stock downpipe and frontpipe. Will 27WON's 2.5" DP/FP combo work with the Greddy 3" exhaust, or will only PRL's 3" DP/FP combo work? Any other things I should consider in regards to the pipe diameters of the different parts?

I expect that both would be compatible. Most would agree that 2.5" is plenty for our 1.5T platform, especially with the stock turbo.

So it wouldn't be an issue to have a 2.5" DP and FP connecting to a 3" exhaust?

I would like to do a drop-in turbo upgrade in the future as well. But not before the DP/FP upgrades.

I have a similar question, don't mean to hijack the thread. If I plan on running the HKS catback which is 60mm piping to dual 50mm, will I have an issue if I plan on adding the 76mm PRL FP DP?

There’s also another quality choice to choose from, RV6.
I like the RV6 because it’s interchangeable from 2.5” to 3”, but I want to run a catted DP. Too bad the RV6 is only catless.

Our exhaust system components would work with your Greddy.

If you want perfect flow you will want 3 inches all the way from top to bottom.

Is there evidence of this? Logically, it makes sense, but is the difference going to be noticeable between an all 3" system vs 3.125" to 2.5" to 3"?

It's called the bottleneck effect

Thank you, I just did some quick research on that and it's helped me make up my mind. I want to keep the piping diameters all the same, so the catted 3" PRL DP/FP will be my choice.
