Exhaust fitment- downpipe?

Does the prl downpipe fit to the stock midpipe? Or is the 3” midpipe also necessary?
If it does fit, then what’s the point of RV6 interchangeable 2.5”/3”

It does fit and the 3" midpipe (Front Pipe) is not necessary. I had both the PRL downpipe and the front pipe but now I am just using the PRL downpipe. The rest of my exhaust is stock.
