Whatsup everyone, finally looking to get a set of wheels on my red 10th gen coupe and I think I'm going to end up getting some gold rpf1s. Iv'e never bought wheels for my car before so I am fairly new to the process and don't know the best place to buy them. Iv'e been looking on tire rack and was quoted around 1.8k with 18'x8.5 and tires. I'm looking for a summer set of tires as I will be using my stock rims with tires during the winter. I live in the Chicago land area. The tires I want to get are the pirelli p zero nero GT, the reviews on tire rack are pushing me towards these. 1.8k does seem like a lot. Any recommendations on other sites to buy these wheels? maybe a more budget tire? Also, will staying with size 18's be better than going down to 17's? as I see that 17's are cheaper. Thanks.

Us autocross types all run 17" wheels since 17" tires are quite a bit cheaper. Plus the wheel and tire setup ends up lighter which helps everything a little. If you don't care about time on a clock, it's totally subjective.

I think the coupe in particular looks good on 17" RPF-1s:

I have an ugly sedan on even uglier Konig Hypergrams though, so what do I know.

Pirelli blows though, pick another tire.

You should go 18s for looks, and I suggest an 18x9 or 9.5. you will get the concave face on the rpf1 which looks way better than the bubble face you get with smaller widths. 18x9 +35 is a great easy to fit setup even if you lower your car in the future. Here is mine for reference, I am on 18x9.5 +35 with lowering springs.

are you on spacers or camber arms? and do you have any rubbing issues?

No I was not using spacers or the wheels would sit out crazy far. I did not rub with 255/35 wheels, looks like I had enough space for 265s, about 2 degrees of camber with no rubbing even when the car was full.

You may want to consider Bronze.
