I was wondering if there were any cams proven to fit and work on the K20C2 or if you could swap in K20C1 parts like pistons, camshafts, etc.

There are some aftermarket engine parts available. Supertech makes oversized valves, and a number of valvetrain upgrades for the FK8 will work in our motors(our intake valves and lost motion assemblies have the same PN as the K20C1).

I’ve mulled over whether or not it would be feasible to try and swap a CTR exhaust cam, since we effectively have a VTEC killer setup on that side, but I don’t know lift, duration, ramp rate, etc. so it may not be good for NA power.

If you were willing to go all out, you could try and swap the stock block for the K20C1 block/trans, but I don’t think KTuner currently supports turbocharging, so you’d have to go stand alone engine management.

My hope is that someone makes a stroker kit for the FK8, then install that along with higher compression pistons.

I have honestly given a taught of doing a k20c1 swap (tranny and all). I had a concept for my car which is making it a “2017 Honda Civic Type R Sedan.” I would like to try this in the future possibly but would be a lot of money. For right now I most likely would try to push for 200hp (or anything close or even 210 to match the stock si) on the k20c2.

Any news on aftermarket parts? I don't see how any K series, even the C2 will not have an aftermarket past a couple bolt ons and Ktuner.

Thats all we are going to get. Its sad but the reality
Nonsense, every Honda motor for decades has had an aftermarket larger than this.

I have emailed many many performance sites. All of them told me they have no plans to support the K20C2
Right, I'm sure they didn't support the D series, the LS, B20, F20, etc etc at first either.

Interested in seeing if the exhaust cam would work from the c1... I know the timing chain is the same part number.

With the rv6 Catless downpipe, Invidia N1 Exhaust, and a Custom dyno tune, Highest ive seen out of a K20c2 so far is the one from youtube that makes 177hp to the wheels.
177 wheels? Wow...that's kind of a lot actually...

The K20C2 powertrain is used by formula 4 in the united states have you tried to investigate on that side to see?

And how about changing the head for something with more agressive cams and bigger injectors like say a K20Z3 head or something?

in my neck of the woods i know they can do 162HP wheels (probably around 180HP crank?) reliably with nothing other than Ktuner, intake and downpipe:

Also that's probably an old video because the cam profile change at 5600RPM and i think the newer version of Ktuner is 5300RPM?

Never mind on the type r exhaust cam. The difference between the center lobes are like .001” not worth the type r cam..

A more relevant question is whether older K20 camshafts are interchangeable with the K20C2? I read somewhere that you can swap older K20 cams, no problem. Would be very interested in seeing if this could result in more NA power

If older k20 cams fit in the 2.0, I think company’s would be adding our cars to their fitment lists... but I’ve been wrong before.

I could see maybe a similar engine like the K24W? I have never seen many interchangeable parts for the old K series that has actual exhaust ports for each cylinder...
