I prefer to drive my car, and I do regular inspections and preventative maintenance to avoid being stranded with the hood up for hours.I never said it "can't be" all three; I was questioning the need for the extra effort/resources put into making it look better. Just don't think it's important, but of course to each their own. Sure, if you constantly find yourself in situations where your car sits around in public with an open hood for hours, then "looking good" becomes of social importance. I'm just never in that situation, and I'm willing to bet that 99.9% of the owners aren't either.
There's something about an engine bay that is 100% all business that is attractive to me.
