Sounds like some kind of bug in the code. Probably means it's a potential issue for anyone not filling the tank all the way. Hard to believe it would actually harm the emissions system. My guess is that the software update will correct the false code being displayed

I always fill to full when getting gas and usually get the code when I'm down to about a quarter tank.

I've started carrying around a 10mm to reset it next time. lol

Question When you reset it how long do you leave the battery unplugged?

Also do you loose all your settings?

This was the result of my visit to the dealer

" February 2019 Tech Meeting- 2019 Honda Civic P0461 stored Currently under review. As far as we can tell this is just a false DTC and should not have effect on the fuel level reading. Awaiting countermeasure implementation. To avoid setting DTC in the meantime advise customers to fill tank completely when refueling"

Honda contacted me and said it's safe to drive the car with the above issue and they will contact me when a fix is available. I'm not sure what codes others have thrown with the Emissions System Problem warning but for the issue I had I was informed it's OK to drive.

I have the same message but my car is undrivable, the engine shakes a lot and no power whatsoever. I just got the recall on the engine that had gone in limp mode and 2 days later I have to get it towed again. My wife said she doesn't want the car anymore she wants a SUV but the CRV has that 1.5 turbo which I don't trust anymore.

Someone actually just posted on Facebook that their Civic was recalled for the fuel level sensor. It seems there was either a software update or new fuel level sensor installed to fix this. I bet this is what's going on with yours. Keep us posted.

No I didnt' lose any settings in the radio. I left it disconnected for about a minute and pressed the brake pedal which runs any residual voltage to ground through the brake light curcuit.
When you first reconnect the battery dont be alarmed by the lights on the dash. It will say "system initializing drive with caution" it's kind of a reboot.

Right now I'm working 7/13hr shifts but when I get time it will be back at honda for hopefully an update.

Add me to the club. Just bought my first Honda a week ago after 2 Focus' in a row. Maybe i should have went 3 in a row. Also noticed with this error that Econ mode doesn't seem to kick in, or at least it doesn't look to as dash light bars stay white, never turning green. So bummed out.
