So I have an emission test date on february 28, 2021.

I have flex fuel kit and catless downpipe.
Custom tuned with Drob.
Im sure I have about 3 sensors turned off.

Anyone dealth with emission test with similar mods and passed it?
I need to get ready for this battle.

I feel like your only way out here is swapping the DP..

If they use an exhaust sniffer, you'll fail because of the catless pipe.

If they scan the ECU, your emissions system will show "not ready" if you disable any CEL codes.

No sniffer for sure.
I have to figure out a way for the CEL not to go off if I turn it back on.
I also have to go back to 100% pump gas.
I do have a defouler paired with my catless downpipe. Hopefully that works

If you re-enable all the CELs and throw a defouler on, you can maybe clear the codes right before testing and hope it stays off long enough for the test?

In California, there’s a visual inspection as well as exhaust gas measurements and ECU connections. You must pass all three. If you don’t, you may be sent to a referee.

Technically, it is against the law to modify the emissions system. Finding someone to overlook parts of the inspection is nearly impossible as the penalty for cheating is high. To be sure you don’t cheat, the state checks. Sometimes more than once

It's probably already been covered. But in NC; there's a deal where the car has to have a certain amount of miles/hours since any OBD reset. Previously... folks were resetting them in the Jiffy Lube parking lot just before driving in to an inspection. This may be part of the 'not ready' status posted above.

It's usually only about 50 or so miles. At least in CA, it is. Mostly so you don't reset it, inspect, pass, and 100 miles down the road, it comes back on :)

I am custom tuned by drob.
I wonder if I have access on my tune file to turn on my sensors. Im going to have to check later.
Im planning to order a catted downpipe and pair it with a defouler

Not sure if full custom tunes are different but TSP1 is a locked tune and you can adjust disables/monitors so I'd guess it's the same.

@NicKoLi messed around with a bunch of different defoulers and finally found one that seemed to work for him...maybe start there?

PLEASE USE MY HEADACHE AND LONG EFFORT FOR YOUR BENEFIT LOL. No seriously it took me months, one thing that I must mention is I also got the o2 extender cable straight from honda. I dont think that it's necessary as long as your cable reaches.

So you have a catted dp with that specific defouler using a medium insert?

If that works, that would really put me at ease.

My other concern is would I be able to run a basemap with a 27won turbo?

I think it would be "safe" in the sense that it'll run and won't throw any errors immediately. But I would do the flash as close to the shop as possible and stay out of boost as much as possible.

Thing is though, he'll need to drive for a while to get things in a ready state for the emissions test.

Got any idea how many minutes or miles for the car to go in ready state?
