Hope everyone is doing well. I currently drive a cbp R and personally wasnt a huge fan of the red pin stripes so I removed them in addition to going to after market wheels. Now the only thing remaining bright red on the exterior is the emblems and the type R badge; out of curiosity has anyone tried swapping the emblems out with a different style whether it be aftermarket or moving to the standard hatches chrome look? Ideas?

I understand the meaning and history behind the red badges of course but I'm a weirdo in that I dont mind an upper trim car appearing like one that isnt.. Much easier to do in an amg or S model compared to the R but still lol

Cheers

Maybe you'd be interested in the Honda Access black Civic emblems. My front H is cracked and I have been thinking about ditching the Red H's. The black badges would look pretty good on PMM I feel.

Other than that, Aerospec Racing makes some neat customized H badges with carbon fiber and different colors. I don't know anything about the company but I appreciate custom made stuff like this especially those black CF on Red CF ones.

Hmm I had seen those but was concerned that it would be too much black, you seen a pic of them on a cbp? Is the red on the back of the front badge in that pic just tape? Where can I find more info on the aerospec racing ones, those look like they may be my best bet

I second the Aero Spec Racing badges, top notch. I have them on my championship white (I know you were asking about cbp though...) you get ahold of him on Instagram, send him a DM and he gets back to you with an invoice. You can basically choose what inlay color (mine is the typical type R red but you can get anything you want) and you can choose what color you want in the fiber weave. He does some cool looking stuff with the red fiber weave that I think would look nice.

The set of emblems is about 150 or so (pricey but worth it). He also makes some other parts for the FK8 that are equally nice.

Each emblem is $150?
Would assume the pair of front and rear is 150. Going to try and get in contact with him but ive heard it can be difficult

Like I originally said, the "SET" is $150, includes both front and rear.

Yeah, he can be a little tough to get in touch with - he is a one man show that does these custom pieces by hand for several Honda models, not just FK8s. You will likely also have a wait after placing the order. But trust me, they look really nice and are high quality.

How was install? Easy to get the old badges off without breaking anything?

Install is straight forward. Both front and back stock badges are held on by some adhesive backing, work your way around with one of those trim removal tools and start gently lifting up one edge. They may be tough to start prying up but come up easily once you can get some fingers under that edge to pull. The rear one is easy and just pulls off. The front badge has two small protrusions sticking through the grill that are held on by two push nuts (item #12 in the view below.) Honestly unless you are taking the bumper off just pull evenly and firmly on the badge and you will get the nuts to pop off behind the bumper. Yeah, they will be loose in there, they don't hurt anything. I found one when I pulled my bumper off last time for something else, never found the other - guessing it fell out on its own while driving. I was able to get both badges off without damaging them and actually glued them onto my guitar cases as extra flair.

If you have some extra residue left behind from the stock badges you can use something like Goo Gone to remove it.

The new badges have some heavy duty 3m adhesive on the back - peel off the cover and stick it on. Make sure it is square / level because it isn't coming off without some force.
