i was told there was a screen shot of an email from corporate Honda in regards to dealers to sell at MSRP, or else they will no longer get any more type Rs to be sent to their dealers?

Wasn’t sure what to search in the search function to find that posting.

Looks like the Type R now has a MIRP (to replace the MSRP ?? )

This was going around since release. Apparently 95% of the dealers deleted their email.

Yeah, obviously untrue. The "S" in MSRP stands for "suggested". Dealers can charge whatever the market can bear.

The dealer where I got my Si sells Type R's for MSRP. Things could be worse, I remember when the 1983 Prelude came out with an MSRP of $8600 and dealers were getting 12 to 13 grand for them.

Dealers will sell at MSRP, but charge you $400 for wheel locks, $600 for floor mats, $1000 for scotchguard, $2000 for PPF on the door sills and hood. They're going to get the money they want out of it. Local dealer had a Type R when they had just come out. No ADM, but they wanted something like $42,000 for it with dealer added accessories that were all laughably inflated prices.

I bought mine for MSRP back in July and on the window sticker they had listed for $42k The additional cost was listed as market adjustment

Potential buyers just need to quit buying the cars with ADM or grossed up due to dealer add-ons. Until people refuse to pay for that the dealers will just keep doing it. I got mine for list with no add-ons. It showed up on the truck and next day I went out and bought it. Dealer never tried any B.S. We are lucky to have this dealer.
