Electronic Parking Break & Brake Hold -- maintenance issues later on?

Interesting. I think I may have taken the belt off to get cash out of my pocket. I probably wasn't then releasing the parking break correctly.

Yes, it took me awhile to get used to the "expected" behavior with the electronic parking brake and the brake hold system. I really like them now. I still, however, try to get in the car every day and start to drive but the emergency brake doesn't automatically disengage because I don't have my seatbelt on already. I am trying to break over a decade of habit where I would put my seatbelt on immediately after I started the car and began moving. It was probably a bad habit anyway but it is extremely hard to retrain my brain!
