Here is a new one I have not heard of before.
Went out for a quick trip in the SI this afternoon, and 1/4 mile down the road, saw that the "Electric Brake" warning light had come on.
OMG !! Electric Brake issues !!! $$$$$ >>> WARRANTY ?
Stopped the car, shut down, and then went to start car again.
Whet to release the electric brake, and the SWITCH was JAMMED.
Would only move in one direction !!
Played with it for a bit, trying not to put too much pressure on it, and just wiggling it , and suddenly it clicked, and full travel was restored.
Switched it on and off about 30 times, and it worked every time.
I am reasonably sure that nothing got down the sides of the switch, and was mechanically jamming it, and when it suddenly was able to move again, it had 100% correct movement restored.
If it happens again, the switch will probably need to be replaced.
Should not need WD40 !! only 6 months old !!
Not a big deal -- just a PITA !! (Cheap switches !! )
