Hi all,

My 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport is currently sitting on Eibach Sportline springs with 18x9.5 +38 wheels wrapped in a 245/40/R18 tire. I am currently looking at getting new tires but the offset is +35 for the new set. I already rub when I hit dips in the road with my current set up but will the +35 wheels change rubbing drastically? The new wheels would still have the same size tire just essentially swapping out the wheels. Also, has anyone rolled their fenders and have pictures to show? What could I do to mitigate the rubbing? Thanks!

You could mitigate rubbing on your 18x9.5+38 wheels by changing tire size to 235/40r18 or 255/35r18.

If you are looking at new wheels that are +35 offset, then try to stay around 8.5 or 9.0" wide... 18x9.5 +35 will rub if you are on those springs with 245/40r18 tires.

You could also add some more camber to mitigate rubbing. The rear camber goes negative just by lowering, but the front camber can go a little more negative by pulling the front strut guide pins. Or you could install adjustable lower ball joints.

Depends on how it rub, +35 will rub more. You need to go uper like +40-42 on 18x9.5 or go with a less wider tire and wheels.

I run +38 18x8.5 on 255/35/18 on whiteline 0 rub. That is why I choice whiteline only 0.9 drop compare to other option.

@MetalMarty, what decision did you come up with? Would like to note what actions you took to solve the rubbing challenge.
I have not decided anything yet. I'm currently just dealing with the minor rubbing going over big dips and stuff. I had just bought new tires and didnt factor in the aspect ratio or the bigger tire. I think when I get new tires, I will go with one that isn't as "tall" so I will most likely go with a 245/35 or something along those lines.
