That would be super helpful!

If you could take some pictures that show the headlight washers it would really help me develop a template on where to cut into the bumper to mount them! I'm just trying to make it as authentic as possible-

FYI They're not a round cut - more like a rectangle with one end rounded. So I might be able to start with a drill or small holesaw but I think I'll finish it with a tremel or other small rotary...

To join the party, I'll dump all the parking sensor info I found here :)

Apparently it is an available option for the Insight here in the States, the kit is available from College Hills, though some parts are a bit different for the Civic, the PDF file from College Hills gives us a good idea of what is needed to make it work
https://www.collegehillshonda.com/product/08V67-TXM.html

A complete kit would contain:
-The sensors itself
-Sensor covers
-Harness
-Control unit
-The dash switch

  • The sensors are shareable with the Insight.
  • The covers, depends on how many sensors you want and either you have a Sedan or Hatchback can make some difference here. In general, there's the choice of 4 sensors or 6 sensors, either just 4 corners, or with 2 on the rear center. All of them need a cover, should be all color matched if you have a Sedan, or for the Hatchbacks 4 corners will be in Black since the sensors will be on the "fake vent".
  • Harness, because it is in different length, it got to be Civic specific
  • Control Unit, I've done further research online, looks like different models have a different control unit, like the one for the Pilot have a similar part number, but looks very different.
  • The dash switch, I believe it is sharable :)
Now you may wonder where can we find the need part numbers? Behold the Honda JP Access Catalog (item 6 on PDF page 14):
https://www.honda.co.jp/ACCESS/civichatchback/pdf/civic_accessories_catalog_2001.pdf

It probably needs a lot more confirmation, but the general idea, is to adapter the Insight's instruction to install the parts made for the Civic.

Here's the DIY thread from the Insight forum, looks like a fun project
https://www.gen3insight.com/threads/parking-sensors.448/

Btw, how come the Insight gets so much better accessories than us Civics? they even have the door handle illumination here in the States, which I have spent more on shipping to get it from Japan :(
