What happens if you buy an item, and the return shipping is more than the product value? I bought a black grille for $86 and decided to return it, but shipping was around $100. Now I don't know what to do.

That's usually how it works even "Free" returns from Amazon will have a shipping charge unless you drop it off at one of their drop off centers. Change of mind returns will usually have to pay for own shipping back. If you want to get around it, you can find something wrong with it and complain. Or cause damage it to yourself and blame the seller (not recommended).

I had that with a canopy I purchased for the beach, ended up not being exactly what I wanted and the cheapest I could find to return was 130 (I paid 125)

I ended up listing it on OfferUp and sold it for 90 bucks.

Maybe you can utilize the classified ads here to try to sell it locally to avoid shipping, you may not be able to get the full price you paid but atleast you could get some return on it
