What a pain this is to deal with. Really wish there was an easier way to reset it versus driving the car around on the street. I've been trying to dyno my car this week and having a hell of a time with it. First attempt, we dropped it on the rollers and ran for about 3 seconds to get the car positioned before doing the procedure (yeah I know, our fault) and it threw it into safe mode. Second attempt, everything looked good and as we started the first pull it went into safe mode again. Turns out, you can't have the ebrake set, even with the flashing VSA off button, or it'll still get pissed off. Third attempt we released the ebrake after doing the pedal dance and it seemed fine. Did a few pulls and all was good. Numbers were looking a little off, so I hooked up a laptop to do some realtime logging with Flashpro. The Flashpro had been connected to the ODB2 port the entire time, but the moment I plugged the laptop into it, the car once again went into safe mode. The car was never shut off, and the VSA off button was blinking and we had already successfully done a few pulls. So it seems like just the act of plugging in the Flashpro to the laptop was enough to trigger it.

Has anyone figured out an easier way to reset this without pulling it off the dyno and driving around on the streets? Has anyone else had the issues I described above, with the ebrake or plugging in a laptop? Any other tips or tricks to avoid this issue?

was there a longer, original thread to this? i am in chassis safety mode and cant get out of it. seems like a VSA issue
Every time I ended up in safety mode, driving for 20-30 minutes cleared it eventually. Still haven't had a chance to dyno again, but it's definitely a pain from my experience.

i went to a Honda specialist and he had device that did a vsa neutralization and it cleared the code. it's one of those dealer devices that cost thousands of dollars from what i was told. you could either take it to the dealer and have them charge you an arm and a leg or someone that has the device. i couldnt clear it using flashpro or any other way. i was told it was some sort of internal safety feature Honda puts on its cars. When something is tampered with that should not, it will disable various functions and/or features on the car until you take it in and get it looked at.

the main issue was the vsa. i had pretty much all the christmas lights on but note that i DID NOT have a check engine light on.

mine was a bit out of the norm b/c even my tuner never seen something like it before.

i have read in posts from other sites that people have manually tried doing the vsa neutralization but not a FK8. seemed like something i did not want to mess with and rather have an expert fix it. i knew there was nothing really wrong with the car, nor was anything wrong done to it so i knew it was nothing serious but it pretty much disabled a whole bunch of my features.

Anyone know how to get out of Chassis Safety Mode. Changed my oil and started the car while the parking brake was on. Wheels spun as the car idled and the dash was beeping while it was happening. Now my dash is a Christmas tree and my parking brake doesn't work. Drove 30 miles from work and it still didn't go away. Trying to resolve this without going to the dealer and pay them to clear it.

Just keep driving. I've had to reset it several times and it hasn't been consistent with how long it takes.

Update for everyone. Had my car reset at a shop. He told me he reset the ecu and did a sensor relearn. Which cleared everything up and my parking brake works again. Don't let your front wheels spin with the parking brake on if you have it in the air for maintenance like I did

This just happened to me today fixing my lip when I hit something on my way home from work. What do they charge to fix it?
