Dealer explained to me when I bought my car that the engine equipped with the vehicle is a high revving engine and should be driven at high at high revs. My car is a 2018 civic sport 6MT. Is this true or just horse crap.

Sounds like a bunch of BS to me! I drive an Si and I tend to be at around 2-3k RMP's cruising and mostly staying out of boost. I don't really consider that "high". Now if I am having fun...I'll probably go to like 5K and sometimes redline when I need the speed.

That was car salesman BS. The 1.5turbo has gobs of torque by 3k. Rarely any need to go past that unless having fun, and even then after 5k power drops like a rock. The 2.0 base engine is more "rev-happy" like older Civics.

That dealer is a time traveler from 3 years ago :)

OP, don't forget about the break-in period, too...

Thanks guys! glad that I didn't listen to that salesman. Can you imagine me driving that car, switching gears at 4 or 5k when driving in residential areas! haha I would look like and sound like a wanna be!

just let the car tell you where she wants to be shifted in each situation. Sometimes I love keeping it around 1500 rpm and still being able to keep up with traffic in silence and sometimes I like to hear the engine pushing at 5500-6000 rpm, just for fun because you really don't need to get so high to move quickly.

Hearing what that salesman said to you actually makes me laugh. 1.5T doesn't even rev that high at all compared to some other engines.
