love your build. Beautiful car! I also saw how you plugged your coolant hose with a bolt, neat trick and a learned something new! Why did you swap out the clutch?
Hey, thanks a lot! Yeah that bolt literally saved me a lot from making a mess on my driveway.
Clutch wise, I originally planned on doing a built block + a bigger turbo setup that's why I made the switch to a stronger clutch setup.

Clutch swap time!!

Me and a couple of buddies (@jedsetperformance on IG) worked on the swap, which I'm glad I did because it definitely is not a job for the faint-hearted. The subframe disassembly and re-installation definitely took most of the time we spent on this! Surprisingly, the stock clutch was still in somewhat good shape after the abuse it took.

Parts installed:

ACT 6 puck clutch with 17lb flywheel
KZCMC
PRL SS braided clutch line
27 Won Race rear engine mount
Whiteline 27mm front sway bar
Whiteline control arms and anti lift kit
Whiteline adjustable ball joints

I definitely recommend doing all these upgrades white swapping out the clutch because everything is easily accessible.

The car feels amazing with the new clutch installed! The engagement point is definitely different than the stock clutch, but the pedal feedback is just a little stiffer. Getting the sweet spot when adjusting the clutch pedal was a pain, but still worked out after multiple adjustments.

The whiteline front suspension upgrades also made a ton of difference! The car feels more planted than it was! But had rubbing issues because the ball joints made the front wheels poke out. I had it aligned to -3.25 degrees of camber, and now it doesn't rub with the current ride height.

I was planning to document every single step of the job, but I got a little too busy with it so here are a couple of photos!

More Mugen goodies!
Front bumper garnish
CF grille garnish
Door handle protector
Start/stop button

I got the front bumper garnish in Crystal Black Pearl because the white, apparently is discontinued. It turned out good IMO but I will get it paint matched hopefully for the next season. Still waiting on a couple of goodies and my build is getting closer to completion!

The Mugen MSR full bucket seat finally arrived!

Paired it with PCI slider seat bracket and I couldn't happier. Build quality is fantastic and has tons of adjustment points.

Overall install was fairly easy. Ordered a 1 watt 2.2 ohm resistor for the airbag code canceller, wrapped the wires in Tesa tape and routed underneath the seat bracket (I tried to make this as clean as possible). For the seat position sensor, I just used Velcro tape to mount it as close to the OEM seat position as possible.

Seat is super comfortable even on long drives. I plan to get a harness bar and appropriate 4/5 point harness for it soon (don't worry about me using the OEM seatbelt for this, it's only temporary :p). Will also get boltser protectors on both sides as they will surely see some wear from getting in and out of it.

Super stoked on this!

All of this is amazing! Does removing airbags in Canada make the car illegal for the street? It does in the US.

Thanks man!

I believe it is illegal but they're not too strict about it.

Where do you get all the Mugen parts from? I don't even see a way to order anything from their site unless I'm not seeing something.

Soooo this is an end of an era.... Some unfortunate things happened in the previous days that I didn't expect to happen, but did.

The car is now back to stock and I no longer own it. Kind of emotional to let go of my pride and joy but I'm sure that it's also gonna put a smile on it's new owner's face. It took 4 days or working 8-10 hours to remove everything. I learned a lot from this build, met a lot of awesome people, and really had a blast over the 2 and a half years of owning it. Might have teared up a little bit while writing this and I hope I don't regret what I've done.

Anyways, here is the new project. A 2021 Civic Type R in Polished Metal Metallic.

Thanks man! First drive was kind of boring since I got used to the Si trying to kill me every time I drive aggressively.

Yes, I will transfer all the parts that fits!
