The lighting will be a lot softer than it appears in pictures.awesome, i got the blue already on the way. the main thing for me was just the LED itself being visible in the pocket area.
So I just completed the ambient footwell lighting and door lining installs, following the directions above to wire them to the illumination circuit. My issue is that the passenger door does not dim with the rest of the ambient lights (though the drivers side does). So I modified the install to have the door pocket/handle illumination to come on only with the parking/headlight switch on (or auto). OEM instructions say to install it to have it on with the ignition on. By doing this modification, the lights will come on the same as the ambient lighting/console illumination.
Passenger side lights - tap the gray wire not the "brown" wire.
Driver side lights - tap the tan wire on the window switch plug not the "brown" wire on the mirror control plug. You will need to tap that wire a little further down from the plug to give the accessory wire enough slack (so you can plug into both plugs without issue).
Tap the black wires as per OEM instructions.
Best of all, if you have already installed it per OEM instructions, you don't need to pull off too many parts to get to the original connections. For the driver side, just pop off the driver window switch (no need to pull off the door panel). For the passenger side, just pull off the two side console trim pieces and the climate control.
This is not the case. I am a U.K. owner and I have both of these kits fitted and the ambient footwell kit as well. Just in case anyone wasn’t sure if this is possible. ??per the UK Honda accessories site, it says the sill illumination can not be used with the door kit. not sure why.
Exactly. I have RHD, and have these 4 kits installed:-This is not the case. I am a U.K. owner and I have both of these kits fitted and the ambient footwell kit as well. Just in case anyone wasn’t sure if this is possible. ??
had no clue all these lights even where a thing lol ive got the footwell and the center dash one but now i want the door card ones alsoHere is my crappy pic
You sure have to get them all if you like the illumination, but I'll suggest you to do them at once to cut down the installation time because basically you have to remove almost the same things, climate control, infotainment, glove box, driver side lower dash panel, for installation.had no clue all these lights even where a thing lol ive got the footwell and the center dash one but now i want the door card ones also
even for just the door card ones? You sure have to get them all if you like the illumination, but I'll suggest you to do them at once to cut down the installation time because basically you have to remove almost the same things, climate control, infotainment, glove box, driver side lower dash panel, for installation.
