I just installed the door and ambient lighting kit. I wish the door kit came on with the headlights, and not starting the car.

ETA: But it does look amazing at night

Did i read somewhere that this is not compatible with the door sill trim kit? Because it uses the same wires for power or something?

You can have both. The door illumination kit taps into the power at the window/mirror switch, and behind the climate control. The door sill looks like it taps into the fusebox.

Correct - door sill plugs into a slot in the fusebox.

Is the fancy light plug and play? Or require new wiring and or cutting?
PNP, you just need to have the extra earth, comes in the kit, tied to one of the bolts.

Just installed mine and they come on with the headlights only. You could have done something wrong.

Also this install wasn't as hard as it looked. Instructions are pretty poor considering how long they are.

Ambient light comes on with headlights. Door illumination kit comes on with the ignition. I installed them correctly per instructions. OP also installed them per instructions, and if you read this line...

Here are the OEM instructions. Look at the bottom right. I think you have installed them incorrectly.

Well it might be that these instructions were for another model (I have a 2017 Civic SI). When I used their originally suggested wiring , my lights did not turn on at all. So I looked up the signals for on that 13 pin connector and chose the correct wire to have them activate with the illumination circuit. So now the lights come on only with the other illumination and I am happy that way.

Wait wait wait wait just a sec here.......
Can we please get a FULL understanding of this ?
I want ambient lighting AND door lighting to come on at the same time, when the headlights are activated ONLY. I have the 17 Type R. So what do I need to do to make that happen ?
It looks like 98-0425 installed them per instructions BUT would rather they came on with headlights... and integra15 installed them ?wrong? but ended up with the better setup/configuration ?
Please clarify :)
Integra15, how did you do it differently ? Is it really because you have an Si ?
For us Type R peeps, how do we "adjust" the instructions so that the door lights light up with headlights ?
I've got the door lights on their way, already have ambient lighting kit and console illumination kit and door sill Type R lights. I'm gonna (taking deeeep breath here) try to do them all at one time and I want to be sure I wire them up the way I, and probably many people, would want them.
