-Electrical tape
-Safety wire or clothes hanger
-Push pin
-Drill
-Drill bits:
1/16in
3/32in
21/64in
5/16in
-(Optional) trim removal
Roll down the front windows completely.
Disconnect negative battery post.
Start at the passenger side and removing the side cover from the dash by lowering the glove box and gripping the piece from behind and pulling towards you, this panel is held on by clips.
Remove glove box by pulling towards the rear of the car.
Remove the panel underneath the glove box by pulling towards the floor. Be sure to unplug the footwell illumination plug if you have it installed in your car.
Remove the panel behind the glovebox by unscrewing the 6 screws and pull towards the car.
You will then be left with this big-ass hole.
Make your way to the center console.
Remove the left and right armrest trim by pulling up on it.
Remove the both left and right center console trims by first pulling up at the bottom and working your way up and then out towards the rear.
(Side note) no need to mask this off unless you decide to use a flathead or trim removal from the top.
Carefully pull the AC control unit toward the rear of the car, and then disconnect the plugs at the rear of the unit.
Make you way to the driver side door and remove the door switch panel by using a flathead screwdriver or trim remover placing it on the top inside corner of the panel and the pull up.
Remove screw behind switch panel
Remove door panel by pulling towards the inside of the car from the armrest pocket and bottom left part of the panel.
Remove the two screws holding the door handle.
Unclip the door cables behind the door handle by lifting on the tabs from the inside towards the outside.
Make your to the passenger side door and repeat the process.
Make sure to remove the speaker from the passenger side door.
Return to the driver door and find the white 13-pin connector, cut back some of the tape to expose part of the harness.
Using the provided white taps, tap the brown and black optional wires to the car harness.
Cover the taps with urethane tape, wrap everything with electrical tape and secure harness with supplied zip ties.
Make your way to the passenger side door and find the grey 37-pin connector, cut back some of the tape to expose the harness.
Using the provided sky blue tap, tap the black optional wire to the car harness.
Cover the tap with urethane tape, wrap everything with electrical tape and secure harness with supplied zip ties.
Route the optional harness through the opening on the cover and towards the speaker hole and secure with zip ties.
Remove the grommet on the side of the door.
Side note, I removed the grommet from the door and car which made it easier for me to route the safety wire from inside the car to the door, however it was a PITA to reinstall the grommet on the car.
Insert safety wire through the car grommet and door grommet and into the door.
Secure optional harness to the wire and pull though the grommet and car.
