Here in Oklahoma, the "high" octane at most pumps is 91. There are a few (literally two, maybe three) places here in OKC you can get 93, but it's very expensive (almost five bucks a gallon). There are, however, a goodly amount of places where you can get e85...

Our tanks (at least the Si, not sure if all the 10th gens have the same tank) are 12.6 gallons. So, if you put two gallons of e85 (105 octane, 85% ethanol) and fill the rest of the way with 91 (91 octane, 0% ethanol), you end up with 93.2 octane, 13% ethanol fuel for a fraction of the price of "real" 93.

We don't have 93 here in KCMO either. Only at BP and its interesting because at some stations I've seen some pumps say 91 and some say 93 almost like they changed the sticker on a few and forgot the rest..its extremely frustrating.
We also have very few E85 stations, so it'll be interesting going back east soon and having access to E85 at almost every station again.

What part of the state are you in? Here in the city we don't have them like everywhere, but there are definitely more places with E85 than with 93...

Wouldn't you need to tune the car to properly run e85? Even if it's a gallon or two? From what I hear.. you'll need more e85 to burn to make power

Nope, not if it's blended like this. You're essentially ending up with the same stuff that a pump which has 93 but is 10% ethanol instead of 100% gas would put out.

how about 3 gallons of e85 for higher octane?

I'd hate to pay for 100 octane for 8.99

Our cars will run on the stock calibrations just fine up to about E15. After that I’d start looking into a flex sensor or tuning for the E85.

That would raise your ethanol level up higher than you'd want it.

Yea down here here our 91 has 10% ethanol
If you're close to the border, Texas generally has 93 instead of 91 as their normal high octane.
