I'm looking at buying a civic with 2.0L with a manual. Does it have the Rev hang like the 1.5T?
Thanks, Geoff

I bought a 2018 EX a couple weeks ago with the CVT (just easier for daily commute in stop and go traffic) and from what I can tell so far there isn't any rev hang and it's a pretty linear powerband.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure rev hang is a manual-only issue

Here is a youtube video of a guy reviewing his 2.0 manual.
He mentions that it has rev-hang at 3:50.

Interesting, it probably feels different for the CVT civics then.

With the 1.5T I only notice the rev hang when shifting well over 5k rpm. Below 5k or so the revs don’t drop quickly like older Honda’s but it nowhere near as bad as when you shift at over 6k rpm where the revs feel like they want to shoot upwards. Seems the higher you rev the worse it gets. It’s a complete non-issue during normal driving . I still blip the throttle when downshifting to keep the clutch from the initial slipping as it takes up the rpms that it needs to climb to be in the next lower gear.

When I drive the 2.0 the clutch and transmission felt exactly the same as the 1.5t but I didn’t go over 5k rpm during the test drives

It was prevelent on the 9th gen Sis with the K24Z7s. Since it was based on emissions, and it exists on the manual 1.5ts, which is made worse by having the heavy flywheel... I don't see how the K20C2s don't have it as well. The A2s didn't have it... but they also have exhaust Vtec. It was a different time. They're trying to get a complete burn of the fuel when you immediately come off the throttle, as I understand it. By having software slowly close the throttle, regardless of what your right foot is doing, it accomplished this.

I have a EXT sedan, friend has an LX sedan. both are 6MT. The rev hang in his car is much much better than in my 1.5T. His revs drop very quickly. I almost can't keep up with how fast I have to shift in his car. After Ktuner, my car improved a little, but nowhere near his 2.0L engine.

Yes, CVTs don't have to worry about rev hang since they don't shift.
