Agree with waiting on replacement - FYI most Honda dealers will do a basic electrical check on your battery's condition for FREE.
Mine does it almost every time I'm in for annual service.
And, put grease on the terminals after installing - it slows/prevents moisture, dirt, salt, and air from getting to the connection/terminal and causing the corrosion in the first place.

I'd clean that engine bay as well.

grease won't help anything, it will corrode again,

corrosion is caused by your battery leaking around the terminals, which is normal over time, but there is no way to fix it after it starts happening, other then cleaning it once in awhile
I'm going to disagree on you on this one. My battery kept corroding every 3 months but once i installed this https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-MC303S-Corrosion-Terminal-Protectors/dp/B001DKUTR0/ref=sr_1_16?crid=2T0YX8WFJ5HZ4&keywords=car+battery+anti+corrosion&qid=1577579905&sprefix=car+battery+ant,aps,157&sr=8-16&th=1 a year later still no corrosion. Just make sure to clean terminals really well before you attach it. After attaching all terminals spray this on it https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-A202S-B...keywords=battery+sealer&qid=1577580089&sr=8-3. Then you'll be set, on Toyota's they spray the battery terminals on brand new cars, not sure why honda doesn't do it. This basically stops the "battery leaking", so no corrosion.

Here's a little kit you can buy if you're near an autozone https://www.autozone.com/batteries-...r/noco-ncp2-battery-protectant-kit/257146_0_0

Went to Advance Auto for new battery. The guy installed those ring terminal protectors for free for my AGM battery.

The stock battery only last 3.5 yrs.

Your battery has done better than mine did. I had to replace at 33 months, 17k miles.

I agree that it is just normal corrosion. However... maybe take the opportunity to replace the battery since the OEM ones were cheap. Yours is 3.5 years old now. It is in the twilight of its life span.

Also... be careful loosening the battery connectors. Some folks unscrew them too far, the locking nut comes off of the bolt, and it is lost forever into the abyss of the engine bay.
They don't get lost forever, you'll hear the reminder of their ghostly voices in the form of a mystery rattle inside the car.

Pop the caps off the battery and top up the cells with distilled water.
That's what killed my battery, the dealer nor the previous owner ever checked the water in the battery. Of course if you are just going to replace the battery, don't bother.

I thought that car batteries nowadays were all sealed batteries

I just got rid of my stock one. I have had it for a few months shy of 3 years. Honda OEM batteries are not known for lasting for very long. I suppose my 3 years is average. I got the Autozone Duralast Gold. I've gotten the Duralast Gold's in the past and they give 3 year warranties. Haven't had any issues and the one I have in another car is still going well for it's 6th year.

Car batteries are not something I delay anymore. I periodically check them once they cross the 3 year mark, and if it shows up with a poor result, I just replace them. A few years ago, I delayed replacing my car battery and my car would not start after midnight in a shitty part of Los Angeles. After about the 25th attempt to crank the car, it started and I replaced it asap the next day.
