2.2€? That sounds like a lot. It mostly hovers around 1.3 to 1.5 around here and has been for years. But yeah, there are quite a few reasons why most cars you see are pretty small - no matter who's driving them. Reading forums on the Internet always gives me the impression that all men drive cars at least the size of a Civic/Focus/Golf. But here that just isn't the case. Most cars are smaller than that and from talking to relatives and friends I can say with certainty that people just don't have the money to buy cars in that price range. The general consensus seems to be that even 10k € is too much for a car.

It's actually really, really weird how different the opinions on cars in different parts of the world seem to be. It's also funny that we have a lot of freeways without a speed limit, but almost nobody cares. It's so rare to see someone driving faster than 120. Seems to be a really different culture here.
Yep, that's why Honda is closing Swindon. If the general consensus is that 10k € is to much for a car, how can Honda sell a 1.5T Sport CVT trim which is priced at 25k pounds (29k €). And the 3 year lease is 275 pounds/month with a sizeable down payment and almost 6% APR. As a result you can see more Dacia's or Suzuki's in Europe than any Honda vehicles.

At the same time, there is plenty of luxury cars in Europe and a 19 to 27 % sales tax.
Why would anyone spend this kind of money when you can buy a great used car with an air-cooled 0.6L 23 hp :nixon:and a boot in front for only 2500 quid.
