Stop buying cars unless we absolutely absolutely absolutely need to. As long as we keep indulging the market, the market continues to be indulged. ?? Seems like a simple formula to me.
That will be tough. Before the recent surge in demand in IC, microchips, etc. in the last couple years, the most globally exported product was cars. And 2nd most was fuel for cars lol (crude oil - which gasoline is made from).

if the supply chain doesn't right itself, this will go longer than the chip shortage. houses this year are getting more expensive because of the lack of supply to build new ones which affect all prices.

we can speculate but if the supply chain from port to home isn't corrected this inflation can go on for years.

Well fast forward here to 2022 31st of January... uhhhh NOPE! Not only chip shortages, but rubber, plastics, steel and other ingredients all messed via the supply chain disruptions being caused by the Pandemic :p Question is... is this the new norm to compensate for inflation...? Uhhh could be... these prices might be here to stay since so many more us dollars been added to the mix the last few years... and now it's all catching up? Look at the DOW... ~37k? Inflation! What yoH dollar was worth a couple years ago now be worth 50 cent! :p *Pardon my slang... Then there's the global energy pinch... and Elon Mush (k) and company (other auto makers) pushing everyone to go EV! LOL! So if you be wanting to buy a CTR... prices are even higher now! Will they go down.. welllllll... more and more peeps not liking the next gen soon to come out :/

Hah yep....This looks like a long ride. I honestly don't see anything changing until probably after the Presidential election in 2024

Some of the latest news in from today (1/31/2022) and 1/29/2022.

Pushing EVs but they need a lot of chips (no... not poker either).

New car prices increased yet again for the 2nd week in a row! Car production will be cut among
a plethora of auto makers...

People are getting tired of waiting and are buying in spite of the price increases!

https://abcnews.go.com/Business/control-buyers-paying-thousands-sticker-price-cars/story?id=82489039

Then there's speculation (nothing to be concerned about... yet) about NeoCov with nearly a 39% mortality rate. Think of MERS with the infectious rate of Omicron. Is it a danger to humans? Well...'not yet, but has the potential to be. Funny how this report is coming from the Wuhan Lab in China... again.

Anyway... things to think about :/

So another 2 or so years dealing with this shit..Seems like a major stop gap should be ordered on Wuhan Labs? Who has the guts to shut that lab down? Its the WHO that really need to be investigated. Someone is producing gain of function experiments in that lab and creating biological warfare.

One of the guys who works at the Land Rover dealer in the auto complex I work in, said a V8 Range went for $50k over sticker. I don't know who needs a Range that bad.

This market won't settle down until 2023 at best. This year might be the worst of the worst. It's too backed up and there are a lot of 2021 cars sitting on manufacturer production lots that were never finished. Not sure how that will pan out. This has never been seen before. Production cuts and unfinished inventories.

We've been told that shipments will start normalizing during the summer. BMW however got totally screwed by the war in Ukraine as we were told they have their entire wire harness manufacturing based there and it was shut down due to the war.
