Nah, it depends on how you drive. If you drive like a maniac yes, there's a high chance of a speeding ticket because it's red and easily visible :D

Thanks for the reply! I currently drive a gray one and have had a couple maniac moves. But noted, I will tone it down.

I was more worried about following the flow of traffic which were all speeding 10-20 km over limit on the highway. Wondering if they'd pick me just because of color.

Nice car btw!

Thank you! Sometimes I speed but I use waze just to be safe. In backroads cops doesn't care as they know that everyone drives there for fun on weekends

Yes. I’ve been pulled over 4 times all in a red vehicle. Once for legit speeding, once for going 5 over in WI despite another car being on my ass and then flying around me, once to see if I had a license for my motorcycle (which is an illegal stop) and once when they claimed I was going 80 when my car would shake above 70 and the speed limit was 70. I’ve owned 3 black cars since without issue.

now granted all of this was outside of a metro so a metro might have less issues but in the rural Midwest you will 100% get pulled over more in a red car

Red gets pulled over more for sure. Red is usually more to insure also, it made a difference on my progressive insurance in the past. Also the uniden R1/R3 are amazing detectors. Don't speed without a top of the line detector. For $200-300 it's probably the first performance mod you should do. Lol.

Everyone said I would get more attention from cops in my CTR because of its massive rear wing. Hasn’t really happened. I think if you drive like a moron you’ll get pulled over regardless. I generally drive pretty sedate and only go like 5-8 mph above the speed limit.

The insurance part is myth.. it all depends on your driving record but not color of your car.

Progressive is a joke anyway ?. I generally pay 6 months premium at a time. When my next payment was due they suddenly bumped the premium without any tickets etc. I called them and they started saying it's changes in their policy and was a planned hike in California blah blah.... One more dumb thing was they wanted to include my roommates in my insurance even though they have their own insurance which is bunch of crap. From that day I am using Geico no regrets...

Yes its myth they actually did studies they dont cost more to insure etc. One thing I noticed is that some people dont like red cars period. My coworker told me her husband would not allow her to buy one, any other color was fine. I cant explain it but people would drive aggressively around me, "race" me while I was just minding my biz and this wasn't a sports car it was a focus.

EDIT: If you want to avoid a ticket your best bet is to monitor the WAZE app (and hope that someone in front of you reported the trap). I have a top of the line Escort detector but I don't even bother to use it anymore because in my area lidar has all but made it obsolete.

Have had several red cars & only got stopped once. I was the only car coming over the top of a hill & going really fast. It wouldn't have mattered what color the car was.

How many reports do you guys see on Waze? Like how many reported and unreported speed traps do you find? I just can't stand Waze compared to Google maps. Especially out of country. I travel Midwest highway A LOT. I did 720 miles Thursday and Google maps reported 2 speed traps accurately. My R1 caught them too. I wanted to like Waze but it's no good compared to gmaps unfortunately.

Myth/old wives tale.
I owned 2 red sports car for a total of 23 years and I can categorically state that its not paint colour that gets drivers pulled over.
Aggressive, reckless driving or the clueless pylons that do stupid shit get the attention of the fuzz.

Yeah the satellite tracking is bad no comparison to even google maps its lame because its the same company they should update it. The usefulness of its anti-police feature just depends on the concentration of users in the area. I live in a metropolitan area so its updated often. I always have it running even on my commute to make sure there is no bad traffic jam in between (route me elsewhere) and to make sure I dont miss a chance to narc on the ones hiding behind bushes etc. I have been though rural areas where not many people are using it so that's more risky.

Of all the cars I've had the biggest cop magnet (by far, not even a contest) was a crappy light tan Chevy Celebrity that I had bought for 500 bucks. My theory is because the suspension was shit and it bounced around a lot from little bumps and the cops thought if it was bouncing that much I must be going pretty fast!!

I've owned 2 red cars over the last 4 years, my '07 Mazda 3 hatch, and my '17 RR FK7. Traded in the Mazda when I got my Civic. Been pulled over twice with the Mazda, got one ticket that I took to court and beat because I was cited for going 5MPH over speed limit. Second time got a warning. Nothing with the Civic so far. I drive by cops every day and haven't had much trouble. I keep an eye out if I want to have a little fun.
