I would install one of those, but my big head needs big sunglasses, lol. So unsure if that would work. I have been placing my reading and sunglasses as per the picture, and really they don't move.
May have to look at the case fref posted above.

Yep, that's what I do except I keep mine in their Rayban case. And they're not Raybans.

The one from eBay (that replaces that roof handle) looks nice. Doesn't look like it'll fit my Oakley Jawbreakers though...

One of the features missing from the new Civic is a sunglass holder. Fortunately there is something you can do about it. You just have to give up the "oh shit" handle above the driver's door. I bought one of these:
How in the world do you get those plugs out of the original handle? I used a screwdriver and a plastic trim tool to try prying it out but it is getting all mangled not even budging.

If the link dies, you can just search ebay for "2016 Civic sunglass" for more listings.

To remove the handle, you have to pull the plastic plugs out.

It takes quite a bit of force to get them out. Once you pull out both, you release the metal clips by pushing the middle part of the metal towards the center.

Once you do this the handle will come right out. I popped out the plastic in the clips of the sunglass holder and put the sunglass holder in place.

Pop in the plastic plugs and you are done.

Here's how it looks with sunglasses in it.

And how it looks closed

Overall I'm satisfied. It goes in pretty easy and looks good. It does have a spring to close on it's own but the backside rubs against the headliner so it stops halfway. You just have to push it closed. I suppose I could trim the plastic but it's not that big of a problem.
I installed one of these recently.
Completely worth it.
Holds my huge shades with ease.

Does anyone know if this works for the Hatchback models? All the ones I see on eBay say "for sedan". I would think the grab handle and recess for it in the headliner would be the same for all body styles, but would like to make sure before I buy one.

Hey,
This seems pleasing. Because mine is a big pair of sunglasses and it's costly which I just bought from a Wholesale Sun glasses online store. It doesn't fit in the sunglass holder and I don't wanna keep it anywhere like that. Well, I think I have to do something like this only. Thanks for the post.

Old thread, but TheNice makes a model of this mod specifically for 10th Gen Civics now

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Z7YGV1L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

I just installed this. Took 3 minutes, looks almost OEM. My Ray-Bans fit (it's snug but they won't get scratched). completely opens and closes as designed. My only gripe: the little shiny black sticker thingy was all deformed and discolored (not even sure what that is supposed to do, almost like it was supposed to be the spot for a logo). I just removed it.
