Top1 V2 front and rear both functional. The rear was time consuming

That is badass and IMO fits excellent on the Type R. It’s like rough, mean but also clean, mad max style. I’ll promote your project to front page.

Looks good. I'd like to see ya go one step further though and just paint ALL OF IT white. (minus the vertical reflectors of course)
I like now u need to do the conversion! Heat gun and box cutter.

What are you attempting to gain by doing this modification?
Its for cosmetic looks. Most people hate things that look like they should be vents or open and are closed like some cheap fake toy

Front and rears done. X-acto knife and heat gun combo. Took forever!

FWIW - I used an electric palm sander on the back of one rear panel. It does the job, but it's debatable which method is more effective.

Have a great weekend, everyone

That is beautiful. What is the heat gun for, loosening the plastic to make it easier to cut?

I won't want to screw this up, so I would love, love if the next person that does this films themselves in the process a little bit.

I know what you mean, man. I messed up the very first panel. I applied the heat gun to the front instead of the back without thinking.

Trial and error! Just be slow and methodical

I have an Si so it's different than a Hatchback, but did you have to remove the rear bumper entirely to pop off the vents? What about the front?

I did for the rear. There is a small screw on the most inboard part of the panel. Can't get to it from underneath.

For the fronts, they pop right off for the most part. Finesse is required

Do you have picture of the 2020 bumper cover that shows the cutout without blocking by the garnish?
This? I just follow the square in the middle and cut with an army knife and a candle to heat things up. Bumper is easy to cut but not the fake vent the black plastic that took forever
