For those that do their own maintenance what milage do you guys hold on to?
I've been looking into the oem maintenance shedule but it's rediculous what honda says.
For regular car usage:
- Engine oil 20 000km
- Transmission oil 120 000km??!
- Spark plugs 120 000km
- Brake oil every 3 years
- air filter every 30 000km or 12months

For heavy usage:

- Engine oil 10 000km
- Transmission oil 60 000km or every 24months
- Spark plugs 120 000km
- Brake oil every 3 years
- air filter every 15 000km or 6months

So far my car was dealer maintained now 55 000km almost 4years old .
They never changed the brake oil or transmission oil.I did had them change the engine oil every 10 000km because i had the oil dilution problem.
I'm going to do my own maintenance now and will start with a oil change and afterwards a transmission oil change as wel.I allready ordered sparkplugs as wel since i plan to change them around 60 000km along with the transmission oil.
Brake pads and oil will get changed as wel.

While on OEM 0-20w type2.0 oil, I change every 5000km or sooner depending on weather conditions and driving style. On 5w-30, every 6000km or sooner,as above. In general, I do about 20k a year so I change oil 4 times a year: Beginning of Summer, End of Summer, December and March.

Greek Summers are hot, plus while running aftermarket intake, dust could be an issue so I change it very frequently.

Transmission every 20k max, usually every 3rd engine oil change

Spark plugs every 40k,using OEM only.

Brake fluid every 2 years.

Coolant check for viscocity/cooling capacity annualy, change every 2 years.

For OEM air filter, every 15k (definately once a year). For aftermarket (K&N drop-in or PRL SRI), I clean it after every winter and after the summer, regardless of kms.

Is your coolant bad after 2 years?
And is the change easy to do?

Coolant is just fine, I just do it for psychological reasons🤪

Not hard at all, nor does it cost much. But given it's a turbo, I prefer to change it. On the K20s, I had changed it ZERO times after 110000kms!

Yes on my old honda I only changed coolant when I did timing belt and water pump. And that was at 100.000km.Do you use MTF3 for the transmission or something else?

Do you drain the coolant from the radiator and the engine block or only from the radiator?

I think they use some kind of machine that drains most if not all of it, from the radiator.

If anyone is interested i set up this maintenance shedule for my car :
- Engine oil and filter max 10000km or 7500km depending on what my oil analysis will say.
- Transmission oil 30000km or every 3 oil changes
- Battery check every month
- airfilter every year
- Pollen filter every year
- Wiper blades every year
- Brake fluid every 3 years or earlier depending on how much water gets into it
- Engine coolant every 60000km
- Spark plugs every 60000km or earlier depending on the use (tuned and how much boost etc )

I'm also now using 0w30 Mobil 1 ESP LV and Blue Print ADH22114 oil filters .Transmission oil is going ro be Ravenol mtf 2.

The additives have degraded quite a bit compared to fresh oil. But what is really amazing is how good the results are despite the very high fuel input. 6cc is already very low, because the high molybdenum content helps very well. Have you switched to another oil now?

The car always was dealer maintained, and it had oil dilution problems before.( oil warning light came on because oil level was over max level)
Because of that I asked the dealer to change the oil earlier every 10000km instead of 20000km.
Now my warranty Is over and I'm doing my own maintenance. The car had 5 oil changes now and I'm at 55000km .I changed over to mobil one 0w30 ESP LV because oem honda 0w20 oil is way to expensive and formulated for economy reasons. And I couldn't find any quality 0w20 oil that meets the oem specs ACEA A3/B3 ACEA A5/B5.
I'm going to change the oil earlier at around 7500km and take another sample then. Also I need install my ktuner and see if a tune helps with the oil dilution.
The guys from Oelcheck said the fuel content was high and I needed to change the oil instantly .The wear metals where fine.

It would be Nice if you take the new analysis from the mobil one here. Where do you buy this mobil one esp lv 0W30?
