I got this one for $25 from ebay. Its working good so far. I did add 2 extra washers. Also you have to be mindful to not pinch the windshield washer hose when closing the hood. The kit didn't come with instructions so I just installed it the way they had it on their ebay listing. It looks like the same kit as one of the previous post. Looks like he installed his a little different.

Added a couple of extra washers.

Route the windshield washer hose under the strut to avoiding pinching. Even after doing that you'll have to be mindful of it when closing the hood. The strut will want to "catch" and pinch the hose.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I bought the kit sold on ebay and it sucks. Everything is out of tolerance and half the kit doesnā€™t even make sense, the fit is sloppy and unrefined. Iā€™m tempted to make my own hood strut DIY, since I now have a working system of my own I built using parts from McMaster-Carr and the hardware store!

Is the hood solid enough to support the additional torque placed on it when closing?
I'd hate to put a crease in the hood just in front of the spot where the top[ of the strut attaches.

It attached the the brackets holding the hood, and I have not seen any issues with twisting or torsion on my kit. The lower attachment point does have some flex, but that's only noticeable if you try to over lift the hood.

Install looks pretty straightforward for my pair of eBay hood prop replacement struts.

Marking and dremel trimming my plastic engine side covers to not interfere with struck tuck path, not so much.

Did strut users leave the OEM prop rod in place or remove it?

I got the Euro standard engine bay black plastic covers for my ā€˜19 US model CTR, stupid expensive six months ago (like $500), not sure about now. Saw some in CF too recently, see VTEC Rā€™s profile/posts.

I left my hood prop rod in. Doesn't interfere with the struts if thats what you're asking.

I decided not to use the eBay rods, maybe they fit sonā€™s Rogue.

Ordered Quick Lift Plus (w/CF look sleeves) as seems easier to install, made to fit, not cheap, has good instructions you can view before buying.
Please let us know how you liked them after you've installed them.

those eBay ones look exactly like the ones that come with the PRL turbo kits. :)
