Read what I said again. You said the stock bulbs will work with the d2s projectors.

I never said stock bulbs will work in D2S projectors. What I said was that D2S projectors use OEM bulbs. While the words "stock" and "OEM" are often used interchangeably, they do not have the same meaning in the context of my post. I think perhaps you might be confused about the topic this thread is discussing.

I mean regular sylvania halogen bulbs are considered “oem” take it easy there man. It’s not a knowledge competition. I was only asking. You said oem bulbs will work with d2s projectors. I have oem sylvania halogen bulbs, and I took your post as I can use those with d2s projectors...

I meant no hostility or competition in my post, I'm simply trying to offer an explanation to some questions that I'm having trouble understanding.

What I meant by OEM D2S is that there are production vehicles that currently use D2S HID bulbs from the factory. There is no such thing as an OEM H1 HID.

Re-reading your earlier post, I initially assumed the 'H11' was a typo, but now I'm wondering if you're talking about buying HIDs and 150w ballasts to use in the stock civic headlights?

Miscommunication that’s all. I do have 150w hids in. That’s why I’m researching for projectors, I need to swap.

I prefer the Mini D2S, but they are a 3" projector and likely require a fair bit of modification to fit in the Civic factory halogen housings. The OP listed a few OEM projector options that should be a direct fit, and likely Mini H1 projectors would be relatively painless to mount. Morimoto sells 4TL-Rs also that use D2S bulbs that might be a good substitute for the OEM options listed in the OP.

Late upload:

Went with Osram CBB's with 50w ballasts. Projectors were TXR I think. Also retrofitted the high beams with LED projectors since those were the only one in stock. Then went with retrofit for the fogs as well. Not sure what the temp rating on these.

Nice! I was actually about to start a d2s retro after I pick up a spare set of headlights. What'd you cut the new bracket out of?

I ordered from the retrofit source and they have universal brackets D2S 4.0 x2 for $30 bucks.

This thread has been helpful in my first attempt at retrofitting. I initially did the Retroquik H1 but am not in love with the outcome (step is really noticeable and the width just isn’t there, still better than a drop in HID though). So I started a second retrofit with Maxima projectors instead and came across that there is a Left and Right side specific indicator on the bracket. It effects the light output for width. Just in case anyone uses these and want the best output possible to be mindful.

I didn't like my first retrofit and so Im re-doing it again using oem headlights. Im also going to use the washer method to elevate and adjust the beams better.

I also agree with seacow that this thread has been very helpful.
