I have a 17 Civic Hatch with a confirmed condenser failure. The stealership says I'm not covered under the condenser TSB. And my local AC shop says they can't find one in stock anywhere. I see a couple of different ones in stock at RockAuto. But, they won't install parts that I provide. I'm thinking about doing it myself and having my shop do the recharge. The stealership says my system is completely empty of refrigerant. So, no environmental issues there

Hoping someone has done this already and can share any shortcuts or things to look out for.

Did they say why you aren’t covered under the TSB? Is the car older than 3 years? If not then you should be covered under warranty too. The only exception is if there is damage to the condenser from a rock or something.
