Direct fit Si front lip coming out soon!

Hey guys. I got permission from the OP to post this on here. There is a new direct fit front lip coming out for the 10th gen Si. It’s polyurethane and very well priced! I’m told production will start in December. Im on the waiting list already! Can’t wait.

Wow....will it be finished black like in installed pics for that $100 price tag? I like this option much better aesthetically. Does this require bumper removal? Doesn't appear to.

I asked and it will be the standard matte black that most poly stuff comes as. The OP wet sanded it and sprayed it with Krylon. I’ll prob do the same. It’s such a clean, great look.

i hope it comes in that finished black as well to match the rest of my si. just sucks its not being produces until december.. maybe itll be done in time for a sweet christmas present!

Sure I’ll be happy to. He doesn’t work for Bayson, but they used his car for fitment.

Hey guys!!

Im the OP with the lip. Jakabony has all the info up already so just here to help answer any other questions you all may have

As mentioned above, the lip is Polypropylene and comes in that plasticy black color. Like a semi gloss kinda.

I wet sanded it just to smooth things out a hair, degreased it then hit it with multiple coats of Krylon fusion gloss black. Nothing special.
I wanted it to match my grill and the fog light garnish's that are gloss black and i think it turned out pretty good.

Install was crazy easy. You DO NOT need to remove the bumper. The lip comes with 10 black self tapping screws that are used to hold the lip up. Not only do the sides of the lip "lock" into the factory gap that im pointing too in the 1st set of photos, but the center of the lip wraps OVER the center of the bumper. This lip fits snug and is very sturdy being that it is reinforced by the bumper itself.

Ill let you all know how it holds up to me murdering some cones at the next autocross.

As for the email response from Bayson R above, Ive been in touch with them for over 3 months then last thursday they said the prototype came in and on friday I was over there checking it out.

Similar but a few things. Ive actually seen this lip on an Si. It does fit, kinda.

The lip needs to be massaged a little to make it fit flush on the bottom of the bumper. It also doesnt wrap over the top of the bumper nor lock onto the sides. Its def. Not as clean as the Bayson R lip.

Lastly, and the thing that bugged me the most, is that the sides do not reach the wheel well. There is close to a 3" gap between the back of the winglet and the wheel well.

From the front it looks pretty good but the side looked pretty bad with that gap. Ill try and find a picture

Found it. Excuse the blurry photo. Im zooming in on it so you can see what Im reffering to.

Look at the gap between the back edge of the lip and the wheel well. Also note how it doesnt look flush do to how low it has to mount on the bumper corners in order to make it work.
