Hi guys I'm just wondering, what's the difference between Si and Hatch. not asking interior or exterior differences. Asking for Engine, intake, turbo etc..

I have hatchback which says 184 hp and I know that Si has 206hp.
so what makes 22hp difference?
I could buy Si but i chose the Sport Hatchback. I really like hatcback design.

The SI has a little bit better parts and is more tuner friendly when your're looking for a little more power. Rods are little bit beefier and the turbo if I'm not mistaken is either slightly bigger or just outputs more boost. I'm only on a tune, intake and e85 and beating some cars you'd wouldn't believe if I told you lol

There have already been several articles on the differences
between the mechanics of the SI and other turbo engines.
Here are some of the differences :
Turbo assembly, intake cam, injectors, fuel pump, pistons
connecting rods, powertrain control modul, flywheel,
mainshaft, limited slip differential .....
Many of us would have liked an SI hatch but it doesn't exist
and we have to make a painful choice between the SI
and the hatchback.
Be happy with your choice.

I did see a post someone was able to mount an Si transmission up to a hatch Sport. But again it’s the minor difference with the engine, intake, plus the more “aggressive” factory tune that makes the hp difference

The engines are pretty much the same except forged Pistons and sodium filled valves in the Si, tuning is one of the biggest differences. I can't remember for sure, but the Si may have a slightly better turbo, I can't remember off hand

SI compression ratio is less and the turbo is bigger. Also the blade count (Vanes) of the turbo is different in SI as per the blog post by Honda

Si has a better fuel system as well as the things stated above. Most importantly it comes with a LSD which alone makes the Si worth it imo. No one likes one wheel spinning.

I have a buddy with a hatch sport that just finished building it. During his build he was informed if he wanted to he could have put the 2020 SI gears.

The main thing making me want the 2020 Si is the LSD, LEDs and the seats.

The 2020 hatch is also appealing due to hatch, better looks, shorter and no moonroof.

The virus has brought my driving (normally 2-3k miles/month) to zero. So I don't have to make this decision yet.
