I did some research on how to touch up paint. And I got a paint pen, and some 2k grit sandpaper and Polish and wax and all that, and this is how it turned how. What the heck am I supposed to do now?

It looks like the area around the touched up spot isn't glossy any more. I tried polish with a microfiber, but I couldnt get the sheen back

Paint pens don't work all that great except on very small chips and such. You may want to buy some color matched base color paint and clearcoat from a place like paintscratch.com....

you might want to use a higher grit sandpaper(3000). also you cant really hand polish it

I highly recommend Dr. Colorchip touch up. It's pricey but works really well

If I were you, I would go to a professional detailer.

You balls must’ve been made of steel. I was scared to touch my paint with a light polish at first and you jumped into the wet sanding right away. Holy crap. Technically, you shouldn’t have gotten through the clear with 2000grit but it depends on how hard you tried. You might get lucky and professional detailer may get it out with compound/polish. Get yourself a paint thickness gauge and see what it reads. If below 70-80 then yes - you’ll need a respray. Just remember - wet sanding on the OEM painted car is a last resort. You don’t wanna do it unless absolutely necessary.

Steps are sand, compound, polish, wax. Think you forgot compound part.

I’m sure if you went through the clear coat though..

Just pay a detailer to do it right this time. Then put on a PPF. Will save you money in the long run if you are trying to keep your paint pristine...

Anyone have any idea about how much this would cost? There are 3 small areas I would like fixed
