Hey all,
I’m newer to the thread, but have been following peripherally. I purchased my 2020 civic si sedan in October, and my brother backed into it Christmas Eve accidentally (his rear view camera was unable to pick up my car). Damage is on the driver rear quarter panel along with some scratches to the rear quarter panel and rear bumper. No rust, thankfully.
I regret not getting the repair done immediately, but in the process of getting estimates now (was saving for a house we locked in).
My first quote was from a local shop at ~$2300, which I thought was absurd. My second quote was from Gerber, who is contracted with my nearest Honda dealer, quoted ~$1200.
I don’t think I can beat the ~$1200 quote, so I’m thinking of pursuing the Gerber repair. My wife used a different Gerber in the past, and we were pleased with their work.
Would you all think this is a fair price, and also would it be better to pay out of pocket or go through my insurance ($500 deductible)? My concern is that my premium will go up.
